If we were to get Lisandro with a €2M for the loan and another €9/10M as an obligation to buy in Summer, it could be that the club thought they'd be limiting themselves of not getting another, probably younger, striker in the Summer. This obviously doesn't justify us getting Anelka (if we do, obviously), and it saddens me considering I'm a very big fan of Lisandro, but I understand why the club wouldn't be willing to make such an investment on him.

the same people beeing mad as fuck at marotta now for not getting LL, would start a riot if we did buy him, and then not be able to get a potential want-away jovetic in the summer

Zach has his heart at the right place, he just pushes the retard throttle too much once in a while. Good poster overall though
:D

Really? No one? I read at least ten members justifying it as not bad where in reality it is beyond terrible.
i dont think he's neccecary, but for 0.6 mil, its would be a cheap option, and if we would lose vucinic with injury, we'd be happy to have him.

This makes the management a bunch of cowards actually, never willing to spend a penny on something that might turn out good. They take the cheap option only to protect their capital even if it means Bendtner or Anelka. Cowardly is the only acceptable excuse.
we are not talking about Zlatan, RVN, or Del Piero here. Lopez is not worth the investment, otherwise lyon would be either asking much more, or not considering selling him at all.

i know you mean the striker situation in general and not just lopez, but keep in mind that maybe management doesn't want to repeat the same mistakes it did with matri, krasic, and martinez. it's not surprising then that they would be extra cautious about spending any significant money on a player that would not be worth the return on investment

Why arent more clubs jumping on the prospect of signing this great forward of unquestionable skill left in the tank, avaibale for just 11 mil ?

Why dont they spend that extra neccecary penny ?

It depends on how serious their situation is, they choose to balance the books, it doesn't mean they'll sell him for peanuts.
the past few years the most sought after god players are fullbacks, centeral defenders and strikers.

11 million is nothing for clubs desperate for a good goal scorer.

It's obviously because he sucks.

Seriously, it is no indication, you need to consider if the clubs that can afford him really needs him.

It is the reason why it would have been a good move, nothing more, nothing less.

now now, plenty of teams can pay 11 mil for a forward.

Thing is, there are to many doubts wich scares away potential buyers. And marotta decided he's not worth the obligation to buy.
Wich is a very reasonable thing.

Come summer, he'd be benched in favor of Llorente anyway.

But if we keep the cash, we still have a chance for break even, and if an opportunity arises during the summer, we could jump on it

fair enough if you think that. i just don't see the fuss about a bench player for lyon. if he is not good enough for them then he is not good enough for us
He is no bench player, he normally plays on the left because Gomis can't.

Look, there are pros and cons to any transfers, Lopez playing as a striker for us would have been a sensible move for 8-10 miliions.

I'd like us to remain open to opportunities such as this one, but I'm also okay with breaking even.

This whole Lopez thing is hilarious. We all know how it would have turned out.

He comes here, bangs a few goals at the start. Slows down a bit, starts getting rotated in and out with other strikers. Maybe he scores 5 goals from now until the end of the year. Scores 10 goals next season.

Meanwhile, Jovetic, Muriel, Higuain, Dzeko, etc. all change teams and we don't move for them.

Juventuz.org goes into meltdown mode. Despite Lopez scoring at a decent, average rate, he is thrown into an excel spreadsheet labeled "OMG GIGANTIC FAILURES BY MAROTTA". People start adding up all the money we spent on forwards who helped produce #1 offense in Serie A over 2 years total.

Someone will post: Quagliarella 15M, Matri 18M, Lopez 10M. See we could have bought Benzema by now disregarding the fact that it took us 3 years to purchase those players netting 43M, wages, re-sale value of those strikers, etc. BASICALLY, disregarding any elementary sense of logic.

Tactical brilliance

team was static and locked up

he makes vucinic drops deeper to collect, quag to move behind him in the center, licht to come higher

6 minutes later, we score as genoa cannot anticipate the chance quickly enough

What a fucking boss conte proves to be every fucking time
