I don't care about assists, the assists were numbers used against me when I complained repetitively on Asamoah. He is great in defending the wing and pinning opposing players back, he is good at recovering the ball but he loses it way too much for my liking. And about the formation which means nothing to me, it's only numbers if it has to be that way I am well aware he is the best option we have and there is absolutely no way we can buy someone else now in January (especially after we let Armero go to Napoli). And then again when he was bought in the summer was he bought to play as a wide player? I don't think so, he was bought to strengthen our already too strong central midfield.
I don't know. Looking at our most used formation & our options at that time for the LWB spot, it's not really far fetched to think he was.

And regardless of buying someone in January, I personally don't see the need to move Asamoah away from his current spot, so we'll never agree on that.

Everyone is tearing their hair out about whether to use the 352 or the 433 but the fact is is that there are crucial players missing for both systems.
With the 352 the two big losses are Chiellini and Asamoah.
When someone else is playing in the back three other than the usual, it normally becomes a very sloppy backline, because these players haven't had the time to get used to eachother. Right now this is the case, and it is amplified even more by not having a good lwb in front of that sloppy left part of the defense.
The 433 is missing a lot of important parts, too. Without Pepe and Vucinic there are no good wingers. Giovinco might work but that still doesn't fill in Pepe's role. The 433 is also missing a good left back, and because there is only a three man midfield, not having Marchisio is going to hurt a lot more in the 433 than it will in the 352.
You can change the formations as much as you like, but in the end we're going to see a run of bad form because of these players missing. It's just something we're gonna have to wait through. Hopefully we won't drop too many points and we'll still kick Celtic's ass, and when everyone is fit again we'll see consistent results.

What are you talking about? I thought we bought the epitome of a modern defender just a week or so ago.

for 3-5-2 to work, we miss asamoah and vucinic the most

for 4-3-3 to work, we miss vucinic or pepe

3-5-2 fits us well, it is the only way to have some sort of defensive solidarity and make an optimal use of our many and great CMs, also dont suffer all that much due to the lack of CF and allow Pirlo to play at his best possible position.]
Due to our material, it really is very tough tactic choice to change it.
Mayde if we buy a starter CF, we could try a trident...but that would prolly mean sacrificing one of the 3 starter CMs.
