Yeah if we get Allegri I expect a narrow league win or a disgusting 3rd place type of finish.
As good as Conte is, however. There are definitely coaches out there who could pick up where he left off. I won't overrate him purely because he means a lot to us.
It won't be overrating him if you don't undestimate his importance here. He is the key reason why we have achieved what we have. He is the key reason why we have an unprecedented three titles. And he is a key reason why these players play like one single unit. Give the team he had in his first season here to the replacements you mentioned, and I'll tell you that none of them would've done what Conte did.
His poor attitude towards the club should not discount the unparalleled work that he has achieved here.
Right. And there were certainly players we brought in that Conte had nothing to do with that proved to be influential. He probably didn't even know who Pogba was for example. Not sure he really requested Pirlo, that was probably done while they were in the process of signing Conte at the same time. Barzagli was already on the team, he was bought for 300K.
This point isn't directed at you, just a general thought. Let's not forget how he was banned for the match-fixing, rightly or wrongly, and we didn't miss a beat. The club stood behind him and continued on. I will acknowledge that I'm sure Conte still influenced the team greatly throughout that period but the players did not show any effects from having their coach banned. Such professionals.
I mean, he puts Storari in net against Roma when the guy barely plays and he looks like Buffon ffs. Even our backup keeper is top 10 in the league.
This is what I mean when I say Juventus is a team effort.
Proved to be influential? You're taking a lot for granted here. Those players you mentioned above (Pirlo, Barzagli) were not marquee signings at the time. Anybody who thought signing Pirlo or Barzagli then was a genius move is a hypocrite. Sure, Conte didn't know who Pogba was, but please don't make it out to seem like Marrotta knew he was signing an 80m rated talent. That is simply not true.
What is true however, is that Conte had a huge and defining role to play in the cycle that this team has gone through because he is one of the best motivators in the game. He made these players come together and play like a unit, not as individuals, but for each other. He gave the team an identity. Storari is certainly not a goalkeeping great, but the sense of belonging to this team is what allows him to express himself best on the pitch. That is the magic of Conte. Make no mistake about it. Remember what Lippi did to the Italian team in 2006 at the world cup!? He made them play as one. That same team wouldn't have won the world cup with those players under any other coach. Let's not take away the work Conte has done, just because we don't agree with his attitude. Anybody who thinks that this team will be ok just because we have the likes of Pirlo, Tevez, Buffon, Licht, Pogba and Asa, is sorely mistaken. It takes a very intelligent manager to command respect and make players feel comfortable to express their best football at the same time. Conte is one of those few. Allegri, Mancini and Spalletti wouldn't get this team anywhere close to the heights Conte took them to.
It sucks that he is behaving the way he did. I'd like him to stay but only if he wants to. It's BS to decide the ceiling of the team without working with the board on plausible solutions when other coaches in Europe have proved in the last two seasons especially, that the right moves are not always the most expensive ones.

Still waiting for the list of better options than Conte we supposedly have waiting in line to join us.
There are no better options. This team will not win anything in Italy for the next couple of seasons - probably even if Conte stays. But they would have a chance in Europe with Conte or somebody like Ancelotti or Garcia, neither of whom will ever come. If I had to throw a name into the ring, I'd like us to consider someone like Roberto Martinez. I think he's an astute coach, and maybe someone we can build with, if Conte chose to abandon his pet project midway.
