Open a thread and call it the Cronio's bible and post every rant hes ever made in it and we can read it at the end of the season and see if any of his prophecies came true.
The second half showed more of his ideas, and I'm all for what he's doing. But he's in desperate need of class players, so now it's important that Marotta bring in a very good player for the left flank, as well as a solid centre back to replace the terrible, terrible Bonucci.
His choices tonight were baffling, but the biggest one was taking Vidal off instead of the Invisible man, it was clearly the most obvious choice to make even Stevie Wonder could have seen it.
I'm 100 % sure that he doesn't intend to play Vidal on the flank. He wanted to give Marchisio a real go at the centre midfield spot next to Pirlo and with Pepe being injured he put Vidal on the flank for this game. Marchisio was given lots of time to impress Conte, but he disappointed him. Then Conte subbed him.
I think he knows that Vidal can play next to Pirlo (that's why he requested this player), but he was curious to check out what Marchisio could offer in that central midfield role tonight. It's still pre-season you know..

Why wouldn't he want to see how Vidal and Pirlo play together? After all, those two are the ones who are suppose to be playing together during the season. Also, he knows how Marchisio and Pirlo work together since they've been playing this formation together the whole season while Vidal still haven't been tested with Pirlo in the central of the midfield in a 4-4-2.

Yeah, those are good points, but he did say in a press conference recently that Vidal was brought in for the central midfield spot. So we shouldn't read too much into the fact that he was used on the flank tonight.

you have to understand that this was a traing match, and vidal came back from holiday about 10 days ago. i can think of many reasons conte has for his choices. Most likly vidal is not fit enough to play 90 minutes, he has had to little time to understand tactics, and most likly conte wanted to see how marchisio fits in besides pirlo. i think it is apparent at this stage anyway that marchisio and pirlo is a no match...
