Maybe I'm just going geezer, but I thought there were redeeming cuts on '00's All That You Can't Leave Behind and '04's How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.

Sure, it's a bit poppy and isn't among their Achtung-quality stuff. But better than a lot of stuff I hear promoted these days.
Meh, if anything falls under redeeming, like Sergio mentioned and I'd agree, it's a few cuts from Pop. Mofo and Discotheque were somewhat refreshing.

So...I'm an idiot. I went to the concert yesterday and had a fantastic time. My house is one street across the stadium and I couldn't stand all the racket, commotion, going outside, I just had to participate. I bought a ticket 2h before the show and for 3 times less.

There were 60,000 people in the stadium and the site was to behold....the gigantic stage, the lighting, the sound, everything. Fan or no fan, this is an event no one wants to miss. If you have the chance, go.

Just another proof that hatin' on something just because masses are going nuts over it is pretty pathetic.

But kudos for being a man about it, V :pint: cheers..

I don't like this band one bit. Maybe one or two of their songs I'll actually listen to. Props to Boner though for being one of the most charitable motherfuckers out there

Bono was the one that really surprised me, TBH. The guy is a 120% pure showman. The energy he puts in his performances is incredible.

Some bands are just great showmen. But I will always be there for the music. I remember the first time I saw Ben harper, the first half was all lights and effects. But it was when he sat down on a stool with nothing on him but a spot light and a guitar which was when I really appreciated his music and I thought was the best period of the whole night.
My point is, is that its easy to get caught up in the commotion of the lights and what not. I think its when a band can take a minimalist approach to their shows and still entertain their fans which is indicative of true quality.

I couldn't agree more, that is precisely why I was all against U2 and this concert from the get go. But a good show is a good show, be it an intimate concert or a huge stadium concert and U2 proved that to me.

They were here last week and I didn't go. Then at the same time I know U2 fans who were there and they decided they are no longer fans. In fact they have become anti-U2 just because of the way Bono and his gang are, seeing themselves as world saviours.

LOL, but I know what they mean. He had at least 2,3 political intermissions during yesterday's concert. To be respected or frowned upon...I also always found it annoying but not yesterday. Perhaps because he touched on the Balkan wars and such things, it was kind of emotional.
