you didnt like attack on titan??
I liked it at first, but then it just gets too whiny and doesn't go anywhere. But I was at only the beginning. Plus I have low tolerance for new series, since I'm not into anime as used to (just few favs I dig and can rewatch).

Attack on Titan has a great story. A few months ago I just read the manga out of curiosity and it just gets better and better. First episodes I was little annoyed too. Soon after the story totally gets you.

Damn, I'm really torn apart if I have to consider an anime as the best ever. Berserk has the amazing long manga story but the series are exploiting only the middle of the manga - I think 5-6 volumes from ... 34-35. One Piece is a bit childish at first but it has a massive and complex story. The One Piece world is also fucking amazing and brilliant. I would recommend it to everybody.
Attack on Titan is new and it looks expensive. The story looks great and it is easy to see that the author was inspired by Kentaro Miura's masterpiece Berserk :) . I hope it will stay that way because the manga is also new and the story will be revealed from now on. Attack on Titan has every chance to be a masterpiece but the story yet is just too little for me. :) If you can stand japanese animation - it's a must see.

Just like Steins;Gate I guess (haven't seen it yet, but I'm getting tons of recommendations)

OMG I just devoured all 24 episodes of Steins;gate this weekend! Finally an anime based on sci-fi and not all the other nonsense that they're usually based on. Loved it! I wish I had thought of the John Titor prank on the interweb though. That would have been awesome!

Btw Attack on Titan is just okay. :p

Arigatou Gozaimasu. That is all. :p

Watch itttt! My bf tells me the plot to all the anime he watches (ALL THE TIME -.-) and usually I want to punch him in the face because I hate having to listen, but when he started telling me about Steins;gate my curiosity piqued so much I promptly told him to shut up and don't spoil it for me because I wanted to watch it myself. And then I came here and Claudio confirmed it for me. I wasn't disappointed at all!!!

I had already seen it 2-3 years ago, definitely a must watch.

Regarding Attack on Titan, can't get into that shit. Can't stand a series revolving around "megatrons" derping around.

Attack in titans is way more complex than that. it gets better with each episode, and the animation and voice acting quality is superb. plus it avoids all (99%) anime cliches which is such a breaath of fresh air.

currently watching Hajime ni ippo. love it. if yu like boxing then you will love this show:

I'll bite. What cliches does the show avoid? And how is it complex?

    anime cliches it aviods:

stupid fan service (boobs, panty shots etc.)
    the tsundere characters
    the mysterious silent guy
    the emo strong lead chaarcter
the " i will overcome everything because frienship"
    no stupid jokes
heroes being ridiculous wimps yet turning into amazing strong leads
    no giant robots
no 11 year old girl who is somehow stronger than all the grown up males in show

it's complex in the sense of how depressing it its. the show clearly foreshadows there is no happy outcome and you clerly see it and the desperation onb the faces of the characters, which makes them more human.

it also has some interesting ideas on it's own regarding what is considered living vs. mearly existing.
