Hey dudes, after having a piece of shit phone like HTC for years, I'm thinking about getting a new one. I don't really know much about phones, than i do with PC's

My cousin adviced me to never get Iphone 5 and go Galaxy.

Any you could recommend, it don't have to be a Galaxy.
I have the galaxy note II, it's amazing.

I was actually told by my uncle to get Samsung Galaxy S3.

I'm not sure if it's good though.
It's a great phone. But it depends upon whether you like the UI and the general personality of the phone. You should definitely check out the HTC One X+ and the Sony Xperia Z. You could also wait for HTC to announce their new flagship phone: the HTC M7.

:agree:

Xperia Z looks great too.

Also stay as far as possible from iPhone 5 (and this comes from an iPhone 4 user :D)

HTC is utter shite.
I have the original Desire and it's a great phone. I think they went downhill for a long time until they came out with the One X. That one is a great phone. Looks great and probably has the best screen on a phone. Only issue is the battery not being as good as the Samsung.
The new Sony ones are great too. The way they are using Android is also pretty cool. Also they seem to be aligning towards having a light skin so that they can put out the latest Android updates as soon as possible.

I had two HTCs the Magic and the Incredible S, both were ok but when I got the Galaxy Nexus I really felt the difference. They are also heavy in weight, I prefer lighter phones. A friend of mine got the One X almost at the same time when I got the GN and he hates himself because my screen is way superior. Then one last thing about HTC, Sense is the worst UI in terms of everything, look, usability, functionality and flexibility. I have now a CM on my Incredible S and it has finally started to behave in a way a smartphone should behave.

Easiest way to transfer data from android to iphone (pictures, videos, documents etc)?

Use drop box or just backup content onto laptop/pc?

I would go for Dropbox or similar.

Having used both, I feel the One X screen is superior to the Gnex. But the M7 that's gonna be announced soon had a MUCH lighter version of Sense compared to any phones before. Plus, with a quad core CPU, you shouldn't notice a difference.

One annoyance about the Nexus 4 I've read is that it's not fully optimised for a quad core CPU. Hopefully the community roms are optimised for it.
