I love it. Really smooth and fast plus I love the aluminum body. I really like the new Nexus too, the SGIII looks pretty good also.

After every phone i have owned all the iphones, HTC, Motorola's etc etc this is by far my favorite. I wont even get rid of it when i buy the SGS3 , I'm gonna keep it for DEV work. It is fast smooth as buter, has a beautiful beautiful screen and battery lasts an easy day and a half

So here goes my ROM take after settling for LeeDrOid 3.0.8.2 (Android Version 2.3.3) with Sense. First things first. I really wanted to go with a less bloated ROM (Got a bit tired of Sense.) My search took me through the following:-

CM6.1.1
Stable and functional. But I really wanted Gingerbread.

CM7.1.0
Fast, trim & fresh. Would have loved to keep this ROM but I had a major bug that resulted in my HTC Desire never waking up from sleep.

Oxygen 2.3.2
Plain and fast but suffered same problem as above. Crashed sporadically also.

Miui 1.12.30
Decently fast for a ROM with so many features. Some really cool features like monitor. Georgeous GUI. Never woke up from sleep + crashed whenever I used some apps.

This ROM hang in the white HTC startup screen.

Elelinux-CM7.2
Same as above.

Elelinux-Gingerbread-Sense 2.3.3
Same as above.

this ROM revamped my phone. The display looks so much better. Everything looks fresh (Somebody asked if I had bought a new phone!) The feel is fast although I still have Sense. I calibrated the battery & yesterday i got 21 hours. I've had just one single crash so far. Still evaluating it but am loving the gingerbread.

Looking forward to ICS.

Not sure of official updates. I think that the drivers required for HWA aren't open source. As for mods, there are alpha builds out right now but without camera support.
