True, but it would be good to have an official release so its easier for the developers of the custom roms, so they have the base to work with. Like I said, the ROM I'm using is based on a leaked version of GB and might have some bugs.

If samsung releases an official update, then there is no need to root.

Agreed. I have the Topogigi 1.9 ROM and a Supercharger V6 script, I've changed the stock lockscreen and a few more things and the phone is much faster than before, although it does reboot by itself from time to time.

I am new to the android world. I just got me a samsung Galaxy S II (white) and I am amazed, i am in love with it! Its almost perfect.. I also have the blackberry bold 9900, used it for a month and it just suddenly died, took it to 3 shops and none could help... I got another one yesterday, i would throw this piece of junk bb anyday if it werent for the bbm... i feel disconnected without it.. i cant wait for the bbm for android!

The SGS II is still Samsungs flagship device, so I'm pretty sure it will get ICS.

Have to agree SGS2 will definite be a ICS candidate

Just S-OFF'd my phone, flashed a CM7 partition table and CM7 itself. My biggest problem with CM7 has now been solved!

Low internal memory for installing apps. With a modified partition table, I have more space now.

Have to be very careful with that, very small differences can lead to the ROM being incompatible. The O2X and the G2X cant use the same ROM for example.
