Problem is whenever we buy some new laptop, the old one goes to someone else. First it was my niece for school(OK I can live with that) and now my aunt in Bosnia(fucking free skype calls). I have a feeling one of my grandparents will be next in line.

I had a look at that. I'm not sure if the price for that is reasonable or not. Maybe I need to compare it with the iPad price here. Also, I'm not sure how many Indians really need it. But it would certainly provide great competition to iPad if marketed and advertised properly.

And why browse the web on a pad with a touchscreen instead of on a laptop?

The iPad is useless. But there's a market for it. So I'm glad that an Indian company has decided to enter into it and make some money in the process.
The OlivePad is a 7-incher. You can easily use it as a PMP me thinks. I'll wait till I get a hands-on to see if its any good...

So what about Froyo (2.2), what's the status on that? Can you install it right now? Is there a supported upgrade path or not?

Do you mean officially or unofficially? Unofficially, it's all a matter of Google releasing the source code for FroYo. Once they do, devs start cooking ROM's for the phones they're good at.
