I don't think so. Cos AFAIK, there's no way to bypass the checkout process on Market for paid apps. Root only lets you get full control over the software on the phone.

Make sure you get a backup of all contacts and any other data that is not stored on the SD card.

Also install the custom recovery mentioned in the same post. That'll get you prepped up for some custom ROM time!

X10, whichever is not the mini.

The X10 does look nice. But did it feel fast when you used it? Cos I've heard that the software is sluggish.
