Di Marzio says he's a goner and will be replaced with Sottil. Pirlo did so well last season, until the end. Samp has had a huge transfer overhaul, bringing in 15 new players, but his team has huge concentration issues and that's on the manager.

He might ultimately be mediocre, but he will get a few more jobs (if he wants them) to show one way or another. His philosophy might be great but that's only a tiny part of coaching.

He chose the wrong club, samp were relegated the season before and with new owners, they felt they can get back to serie A. What he needs is a mid table serie B team than one that has the ambition to promote in one or two seasons.

It's the actual management part that I think is missing. Charisma and communication skills were never really his strong points. Tactically he was a focal point, but he was never a leader in a team.

God I'm so glad we got to see him play his last years as a top player in bianconero. Proper class act, from an era where players could stick out as individuals.
