solid performance although he struggled a bit with Kondogbia. had some nice tackles as well which is a rare sight, should do it more often since it's a good compensation for his lack of speed. was expecting him to be caught off guard a bit but he did well overall. anyway, this is the way he's always played, don't know why people are expecting him to become Mascherano overnight. it's how he won 2 CLs and a World Cup.

free-kick aside, he's had some great passes too. one to Morata on that counter and a couple to Lichtsteiner but he couldn't reach them.

Thought Pirlo did really well in a game which didn't suit him. He was played to facilitate quick counters with his passing and he started a few moves which could have led to goals. He's not quick but he clearly ran his ass off the whole game, he was drenched by the end

Pirlo won the quarterfinal for us with that pass to Morata which ended up as a penalty. Anyone who has talked shit about him this season should eat a dick.
