It's clear to me that Allegri will not bench Pirlo this year, no matter how bad he's playing.

Allegri is opting for keeping the balance in the locker room and maintaining stability, instead of vastly improving the team's play with just one substitution (Pirlo for Pereyra - Marchisio as a DM).

Pirlo is a legend, one of the best of all time, and he's a very proud guy. Benching him isn't easy.

This is already very dentrimental to the team, and it will be against Dortmund.

IMO he'll continue to start no matter what till the end of the season. Then it will be up to him to realize he can't play at the highest level anymore and move to the US, or continue with Juve and play his last season. And he'll continue to start. I just can't see him being benched.

What about the effect Pirlo has on our brand? Given that Pirlo is a legend of the game how many non-fans watch Juve to see Pirlo?

Irrelevant to us really but I wonder if that impacts the team choice at all...

Pirlo is still very important and still is an influental player and person. hes been voted Serie A best player for 3 straight seasons now (Vidal and Tevez should have won the last 2), our success and getting back to the top has been associated with him by many people i imagine, and what you said is probably right. lots of people probably watch us only to see him and some of his magic. although they didnt have much to see lately :D

I agree.
You're absolutely right.
Maybe next season,if Pirlo continues his so-so form,it will be easier, and he'll see the starting line up less, but for now i'm sure he's going to start exactly for the reasons you said.
Pirlo will hopefully get back to his normal self and dominate Dortmund. He likes big stages and Germans lol.
Hopefully :xfinger:

Forza Andrea!

He's not even bench material right now. Let him go to some middle east club or Canada and take his wages off our books.

He managed to stop fucking it up during the game.

But his improvement doesn't mean he actually helps the team. He just doesn't fuck up.

Sad really... he will play against Dortmund and will be a starter while he's at Juventus directed by Allegri.

Just hope he call it a day and leaves to USA in the offseason.
