It is a good acquisition but he is still an aging player and we aren't addressing our long term needs in the middle

I always liked Pirlo as a player but to offer him a 3 year contract with a big possibility that he'll be on high wages was not really smart from us.

He'll probably be good for a year or so.

That was perfectly understandable at that time.
