I honestly believe he can play at his best for a long time to come. The guy has never had any speed and he has never needed it! To get this guy for free, even at 32, truly is one of the best deals ever.

hmm, pure physically he isnt the fastest, but since he runs about as fast with the ball as without, he is surprisingly fast.

I like how Conte has used to recently. When we're trying to protect the lead at the end of the games he's sent up the pitch as more of a trequartista. Brilliant move imo since he's good at holding the ball and let others take a breath. The main aspect is of course to make others take care of the defensive job which isn't exactly his strong suit. I was skeptic to him coming here but he sure has proved me wrong. Only thing that disturbs me is that he lately has been a bit too nonchalant with the ball and given it away in situations he really, really, didn't have to. Backheels, akward passes and so forth. In CL matches these mistakes could cost us a game but I'm sure he'll man up to this occasions. And so far what he offers us is invaluable. I never really knew how badly we needed a playmaker until Pirlo came.

Against both Fiorentina and Inter he did, from what I saw. Something I noticed and simply wanted to say; Approved. Shows Conte knows what he's doing.

not a trequartista, more like a free role player collecting balls everywhere, and sending them to the best free player.
keeps the cool in the team

wich is very good

conte's move to sub dp in, and sub vidal for pazienza was very smart

both pirlo and to a lesser margain del piero are very good at keeping possession under such circumstances.
del piero to a greater marging in forcing fouls upun him

if we'd sub out pirlo for pazienza, we wouldnt hold possession for longer then 10 seconds as dp would be to far to reach and doesnt quite has pirlo's passing and vision

Pirlo has samba style, notes Dunga
Italy and Juventus ace Andrea Pirlo is the “most Brazilian-like European player”, says former Selecao tactician Carlos Dunga.

Hmm, I always thought that would be Amauri :shifty:
