I’m a bit surprised nobody is really talking about the Sacchi comments. They were absolutely spot on. This side, and the others of recent memory including Allegri, very rarely played with intensity and motivation. We just go through the motions, just like we did with Capello and the amazing squad he squandered. We can talk about formations all we want, but at the end of the day if your mentality is so backwards and cautious and scared of putting in effort, you won’t win much. Maybe you will some stuff in Italy because they all suffer from some sort of footballing HIV, but the continued losses in Europe to smaller foreign sides across three different Italian managers should be driving folks crazy by now.

These players weren’t born yesterday. This isn’t their first rodeo. Perhaps McKennie is more familiar with actual rodeos, but the rest of the side has largely been in knockouts before. Yet they only start running hard once they need two goals in extra time? Two goals with 110 minutes on the clock? Give me a fucking break!

Yet we think replacing Pirlo with some other moron Italian coach will change things. Umm yeah Ok.

I don't know why it is so hard to get it guys, there are NO funds for major squad changes in the upcoming transfer period.

Why would we hire a new good coach? To train the same idiots we have now?
And why would a good coach come to Juve under the current circumstances? To do what exactly?Because the last time I checked, world class coaches usually train world class players.

The moment we bring a top coach is the moment Agnelli decides we can spend big.Personally I'm expecting at least one more season of frustration.

Sounds good, doesn't work (hasnt worked for anybody in years).
You said 9 out of 10 CL winning teams win it by attack and what instills fear in an opponent is the threat that a team can score at any given minute and defence mindedness hasn't gone far since 2012..Let's see those blistering attacking stats in the finals:

2012- chelsea/Bayern 1-1 defensive match PKs
Shots on target 3/7

2013------bayrn/dortmund 2-1 def approach
Shots on target 8/9

2014----real/atletico 4-1 def approach
1-0 until 90+3 ramos miracle header then 3 goals in ET

2015----Barca/Juve 3-1
We conceded fastest goal in CL history again DEFENCE fuk up cost us we lost before it began

2016--Real/Atletico 1-1 pk's defensive match
Shots on target 8/4

2017---real/Juve 4-1
1-1 halftime. Second half poorly guarded casemiro outside shot broke us. 2-1 Poor defending. Then ronaldo from inside the 6 yard box made it 3-1. Poor defending.

2018---real/livrpol 3-1

2019---livr/toten 2-0.
Salah min 2 penalty, 87 origi

2020-bayern/psg 1-0. Def approach

Out of 9 finals only 4 have had more than 3 goals. (we are the ones that gave up the most goals per match) 4-5 matches out of 9 are legit defensive mentality by both teams..
So the idea of blistering attacks winning CLs is your personal belief and not a fact, the finals could even be said have been more defensive than attack minded or at the very least is split down the middle..Come back to me with numbers and facts not opinions spawn around to sound legit.

You're only talking about finals, which are one off games. How about you look at statistics and samples from the Knockout rounds (I'm not going to include the group stages), RO16, QFs and even Semis? I'm quite sure the emphasis on attacking impetus will become more prevalent.

We should hire a new good coach because the current one is our weakest spot. Our midfield selections are nothing to boast about, yet they easily are top 3 in Serie A. Can't say the same about Pirlo, I'd rate someone like Ivan Juric above him, let alone Conte or Gasperini.

Between now and the end of the season, if we continue playing the same lazy, lethargic football, we should give him the boot. But if there are signs of genuine improvement, if we put together a little winning streak, then it's perhaps better to stick with him than hire another jabroni I guess because unfortunately, in the current climate, I don't see us going after an accomplished manager.

Probably not. Both have vastly different philosophies.

Pirlo is a sucker for Spanish style of football. And he's also shown time and again that he's stubborn and will stick to his ideas even if it isn't working, no matter what.

It worked for Real Madrid consistently under Zidane. They never played wide-open, all out attacking football. They played extremely well-balanced football focused on the overall game, keeping attack and defend in balance.

Which is much the same as what allegri did with great success from 2015-2018 with an inferior set of players, especially attackers at first, and later midfielders (to Madrid).

No one wanted to play us in CL from 2015-2018, like @BayernFan said. We lost to the winners 3 times, twice in very close matches that could have gone either way, and to a fantastic Bayern side the other year, thanks to a legit goal ruled out offside and an injury time Evra brainfart.

Dude, relax. You’re having an epic meltdown all over the forum. Just take a few days and find some calm.

Dude is talking about teams not winning CL since 2012 not teams that didn't make it to the final. We made it to finals but came short, trying to see if it was lack of attacking style thats the culprit and the answer as shown is no it isn't, a mix of teams with various approaches have won it since 2012 with no particular style set in stone.

Well Elvin's dreams might still be realized. We're heading down that route of becoming an 'attacking' team but the execution and planning behind it has been plain awful thus far.

Although I still much rather prefer we stick to our roots. But let's see, if Juventus are able to make that successful transition, then why not.

It reminds me a bit when Wenger went away from the solid Arsenal unit and tried to make them an "attacking" side, they've suffered ever since. They went away from mentally tough players and focused on soft technical players. Ironically, Ramsey was one of them.

I think we should aim for the prime Madrid way under Zidane, a good physical side capable of playing both on the counter but still had technical individuals to break down teams who sat back.
