Dead balls in general. Crazy technique, he'll be missed.
I was sarcastic :D The guy couldn't take a semi decent corner in a season. Good indirect fktaker, Legendary direct fk taker, shit at taking corners.

What? Would be silly if he was, the guy was definitely one of the best corner takers and dead ball specialists in the world, I don't think anybody can dispute that, let alone a Juve fan!
All your oppinions are moot when you will talk about how you watched youve from now on :D We had like zillion corners every game, and if you couldn't spot that he couldn't take a single normal corner then... don't comment on barzagli at least ;)

Perhaps only this season, but in general he's an excellent corner kick taker. The curve he puts on those crosses is just crazy. Whats the matter with you man? in the Liga thread I was criticizing Tuz for overrating some of their players, you're massively underrating Pirlo's ability here.

I'm only talking about corners man :D What he did in his milan days or with italy I couldn't care less, he was mega bad at taking corners with us.

The only player I can overrate is Marchisio, who is the best mid in the world :p Eh.. yeah he's not, but he's cool :D

Well its always difficult to argue with someone who watches his team week in week out, but when it comes to dead balls, corners included, I've always considered Pirlo to be one of the best in the world. Perhaps in his last season he might not have been making the same deliveries he was in the past, but in general, very few could take a corner the way Pirlo could; for me, that is almost indisputable.

@Raz is right though...pirlo is no ramsey.
Ramsey doesn't even take corners. Also our players, Santi especially take really shit corners, most of the time they can't even beat the first man. You lot are fucking spoiled, begging Pirlo to stop taking corners, the fuck outta here.

Its hilarious reading the first few pages of this thread . Then compare to the posts in page 170 or so. Just reading those posts in the first page about how we've brought in a washed up has been makes me smile. '11-'12 will always be one of the best seasons for me. I remember our goal at the start for that campaign was to be in the top three, but Conte from the start of his appointment always maintained we aim for the highest honors just as it was for him as a player. The way that season unfolded was magical. All those draws, the come back in Napoli, battling with Milan for top spot, the drive for the scudetto in late March..... That was the start of our resurgence and this man was at the very heart of it.

He brought with him not just his game on the pitch, but most importantly that "Champion" Mentality which cannot be bought. The way he carried himself with such élan was infectious. Himself, Gigi and Alex instilled in our core that winning drive. What was an under achieving group used to mid table finishes was transformed in that season, this guy being one of the chief reasons. That for me is the indelible mark which he leaves here.

I will always treasure Pirlo's years with us. It's a shame he just lost out on the CL with us. Aside from being an Azurri and World footballing icon, he will always be Juventus legend for me, I couldn't give a midnight wank to what you other guys say. I wish this guy all the best in all his endeavours.

His corners were not good :D Half of it was the team instruction of playing it short to not risk counter, the other half not finding his man with them, both Tevez and Marchisio were better crosses at corners and assisted a few there. While Pirlo was epic with both indirect and direct freekicks, its weird, but kinda true based on pretty much two full seasons.

still remember the day we signed him, was very happy to have the best deep laying playmaker in the world!
he is Milan's legend, but i reckon if you ask him now, he would definitely be liked to be called our legend as well, as much as he is a footballing legend!

The guy is just masterclass, dont think we are gonna see anyone like him in any near future, at least no-one with his overall characteristics, footballing and non footballing wise, i am lucky, to have had seen him, Del Piero and Gigi in the same team.

Good luck legend, it is a pity you didnt get to get your personal target with the FK in serie a, I am also really sad we couldn't help you achieve the CL medal again and getting the treble..

Fino Alla Fine, Forza Andrea!

He was excellent free kick taker, maybe even better than Ale, but when it comes to corners those were horiffic and not only in his last season. It posed more danger for us than for the opponent, getting caught on counters for instance. I dont think there is a sigle Juve fan who liked his corners.

I must admit, there was constant frustration when he would shuffle off to the corner when we won a corner. I can't remember how many times I screamed at the TV in the middle of the night when Pirlo would do those little short corners that never amounted to anything for us.

His corners were shite.. His defending was shite most of the time... And that's it.. He was perfect at everything else...He wil be missed.. I just hope he comes back on loan (like Henry did at arsenal) to break his freekick record and so on...

You wil be missed Andrea.. :touched:
