@Zacheryah What's your take on this? Could Pirlo play more of an offensive role for Juve like he did today for Italy?
he isnt dynamic enough for it. Pogba does that much better

However, if he performs like this, it doesnt matter where you put him, as long as he's on the field.

I've counted at least 5 passes that totally tore the defence apart. Verratti had much to improve if he wants to step into his shoes

Hart almost broke his hips trying to turn to the other side when the ball changed direction dramatically. He was so owned, the post saved him

So funny how england still gave him so much space after they talked how important he is etc etc, they can't even help it though because that's just how they play.

And damn what a dummy and FK, would've been amazing if it went in.

This is insane.

Nobody is gonna say anything about the first half where he played almost as a trequartista? And did a damn fine job.
I don't think Juve should make this permanent but definitely use it more often. He can tie a couple of players so easily with one pass it's unreal. Add to that the fact Vidal and Pogba/Marchisio would help with covering him and the defence. The most important thing about this solution is this though: we wouldn't suffer so much when pressed by opponents. The trio Verratti - De Rossi - Pirlo made English players run circles and look like clueless fools.

This move from Prandelli was genious. Italy had more possession and had it easier to keeep for long periods of the match which was crucial in this kind of conditions.

Insane x2.

He played well in a more advanced role in the first half. Problem is, Vidal would have to be the one who is deepest (like De Rossi was) out of him, Marchisio and Pogba as he is far better defensively than the other two
Nah they all are good enough for this. In fact passing skills and vision are more important when playing like this than the defending. It's all about distributing the ball from the back and our CMs all can do that. Marchisio fits the DDR's role the most though.

I think Conte should look into this. We suffer so much under pressure and Prandelli managed to fix that against very physical English side. Other than that we often get exposed on counter attacks when only Pirlo is in front of the defense. We'd get better covering and also less running/defending for Pirlo which would be very good for the team and him.

His splitting through ball right at the start of the game to Darman I think was insane, he bisected the whole english team with one ground pass from Italy's half.

Gerrard, the Italian Pirlo.
If Pirlo didn't have any Legs.
Well right now he looks like the Italian Nocerino.
Pirlo has walked about 5 yards all game and yet has totally run the midfield. Why did we have to endure weeks of inane talking head bollocks, about stopping Pirlo, if we're just going to let the old man have the whole pitch to do what he likes in?
