DP in 2007, that fall he signed new deal, inferior to the previous one. We're talking about player who went to serie b with us, legend, and when the time came he accepted (board forced him) what was inevitable, so should Pirlo if he wants to continue playing here.

I'm not denying Pirlo's importance in 2011/12, truly key player he was, but now he doesn't have that kind of significance. This Juve team is well oiled machine and no one's absence will be missed. You surely can see the difference between this side and the one during Conte's first year.
If anything, Pirlo is under paid already. I don't see a need for him to make a sacrifice given his importance to our team and role as a starter. Also the fact he came to us as a free transfer allows for a higher then normal salary. He makes less here then he did at Milan and he would have got a lot more if he went abroad. His salary is paltry given his status, marketability and talent level. He has been invaluable to juventus since he joined us.

There's also a difference in their status. Pirlo is still considered one of the best in the world in his position and could still get top contracts elsewhere. This was not the case with Del Piero.

No, he shouldn't. I believe he had lots of offers from top level teams all over the world which are playing in CL.
Anyway, he got a salary which he deserves.

4M a season for the best deep lying playmaker in the world?

Nothing wrong with it at all IMO. Deserves even more if anything. Wonderful and influential player for us.
I know. If his salary is compared to similar players he is already making a big sacrifice by playing for juve. He even was on 6 million a season at Milan. I wonder how much Xavi makes at barca? Pirlo is actually doing us a huge favour with his relatively low wage.

It's pretty foolish for someone to think he should take a pay cut lol

But he's still a world class and influential player, one of the most important in the team. Why should he accept a pay cut? Doesn't make sense. Its only a two year contract as well.

So we will be paying a 37 year old DLP 4 million a year until June (of that year). Sounds about right. Let's sign him up! what a steal!

I completely understand your point of view, I really do. I think he's one of the best passers OF ALL TIME. But age is a bitch, we cannot ignore it.

4 million and every penny is worth it. this guy might cost 4m a season but he will give us more millions in return when he wins us games. he is legendary and should stay. plus with the likes of vucinic, quags and giovinco leaving and players like gabbiadini/immobile coming to replace the wage bill will hopefully reduced.

And those were? I dont think he had many offers in that region. Age factor usually have great impact in making decision of that sort and despite of his not overrelience on physique, that would still be the obstacle not many top clubs are willing to cross. Time will tell are we. It's not official yet, right?

Concerning A. Del Piero. Conte considered him as a bench player,
We all know the Del Piero saga was and still is shrouded in mistery. He was benched for a reason that goes beyond the "He was a bench player in the eyes of Conte".

Also even after del piero took his pay cuts he was still our top earner or one of the top. It almost seems preposterous to be discussing our players wages given how much other clubs pay their players. Look at the wages at arsenal for example... Not to mention the oil teams
