Agnelli: We’ve won 29 titles!
Juventus President Andrea Agnelli has again insisted that the club have won 29 Scudetti and not 27. “Inter are just collateral damage.”
The Turin giants were stripped of their 2005 and 2006 League titles as a result of the Calciopoli sporting trial, with the ’06 championship being handed to Inter instead.
Juve are now in the process of trying to get those two revoked Scudetti back following the emergence of new evidence at the Calciopoli criminal trial in Naples.
Having failed to get the Italian Football Federation to overturn the original judgement this summer, the Turin giants have contacted the national court of arbitration for sport and also European football's governing body.
"We've asked UEFA to look into the matter," Agnelli told RAI. “We have won 29 titles. We know what the actual games that were played told us five years ago.”
Reports over the weekend suggested that Juve were looking to get Inter barred from the Champions League as part of their fight, but Agnelli insists their argument isn’t with the Nerazzurri.
"That was a misunderstanding,” he continued. “Inter are just collateral damage, had it been Chievo this would be falling on Chievo now.
“Our problem is with the Italian Football Federation.
