He was shaky in the first half but looked better in second.

I can't remember him seeming all that shaky. I think mabye more surprised that Sampdoria seemed to have the intention to play their own game and not just try to stop Pirlo from playing. Agreed though that his second half performance was the only positive in a huge sea of disappointment.

Yeah I think it could have been a case of him wanting too much (adrenaline) on those occations in the first half, like we see Chiellini do from time to time.

Anyway, I love the guy, such a beast.
