Carlo Ancelotti has been named as the best Coach in the world for 2007, according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.

The IFFHS is an organisation that records the history of football, and it came to its decision though numerical and statistical analysis.

Milan boss Ancelotti had a stunning 2007, winning the European Champions League, European Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.

Manchester United’s Alex Ferguson finished second, ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Juande Ramos, who led Sevilla to the UEFA Cup before moving to the Premiership.

English-based managers dominate the top positions with Arsene Wenger of Arsenal in fifth, former Chelsea manager in sixth and Liverpool’s Rafa Benitez in sixth.

Frank Rijkaard surprisingly was placed in seventh, above Fabio Capello in 11th, despite the fact that Real Madrid pipped Barcelona to La Liga last season.

Roberto Mancini as only in eighth even though he won the Scudetto last season, and has overseen Inter dominate the rest of the field in the current season.

Miguel Angel Russo of Boca Juniors and Gustavo Alfaro of Arsenal di Sarandi complete the top 10.

The top 10:

1. Carlo Ancelotti (Milan)
2. Alex Ferguson (Manchester United)
3. Juande Ramos (Tottenham Hotspur)
4. Arsene Wenger (Arsenal)
5. Jose Mourinho (Without a club)
6. Rafael Benitez (Liverpool)
7. Frank Rijkaard (Barcelona)

The fact that I would take Ranieri over Carlo right now, even now, should speak volumes about this.
