Is that the preferred position for Giovinco then?

If so, we are in agreement.

A Juventus supporting correspondent of mine (based in Italy) is of the belief that the following will happen:-

Players in Diego, Cannavaro, Criscito, Moretti and Pizarro for sure.

Players out Trezeguet, Tiago, Zebina Camoranesi(Ranieri), Palladino, Zalayeta, Giovinco(Ranieri) Lanzafame.

Certain returns Paolucci and Rossi.
who pizarro? from roma?

Rossi, Fausto? Isn't he with the Primavera?
that's what i thought

I dont ever dare of dreaming that, but you have a strong point there.
The new coach will have a word on that (unless its someone like Conte)
By now, we should know the roles of DC and Giovinco, but CR never game them the chance for that. Hopefully the new coach will and it will be wiser to decide on our needs and priorities after that!

The situation on our right flank is crystal clear though!!
Zebina+Marchionni out!! New starter RB and a quality young RM, able to replace Camo in a couple of years and replace him when injured/suspended!
I'm not sure about buying a new RM.

We will probably be changing to a three man central midfield with Diego in front of that, so we won't really be needing an orthodox RM.

I agree about booting Marchionni, but I would be happy to have Salihamidzic as Camoranesi's backup.

Thats an interesting idea, that might work actually.
But i remember having all those possible solutions even before CR joined and he has changed nothing!
And he is a coach with great experience to the courage to change things.
Hopefully the new coach, or CR if he remains will make a proper use of his tools...:xfinger:

The fact that the player and the other club confirmed the deal is an added satisfaction. His arrival will probably bring about a review of our style of play.

“Ranieri is ready to change the system and play Diego along side our other champions,”
Cobolli Gigli added.

Sounds likely that the formation will be adapted for Diego.

That means very little,we would have to still play 2 up top,but Ranieri says he will play Diego in a Gerrard style role which will not work.

Gerrard plays more like a support striker these days...
Liverpool with only one man up front though. Ranieri will try to incorporate that to Juve, which in essence will not work.

Its either:-

Del-Amauri
Diego

or

Amauri
Gio-Diego-Camo(Lavezzi?)

Not

Amauri

Diego

X-X-X-X

Insert names of 4 Defensive Mids here. That would be very negative.

Diego isn't a support striker, so I don't think Ranieri will use him as such (if he stays that is)... It is gonna be this I think

two of Amauri/IQ/Trez/DP up front
Diego
Two of Marchisio/Gio/Poulsen/Camo and Sissoko...

He he, or that CR would do everything to stay:snoop:
I dont thing that he will though and even if he does stay, he will invent a formation with 3-5 DMs behind Diego:lol:
He is just too scared to field a non forward creative player!

Expect smth like
the Super GIGI
Defensive fullback CB CB Defensive fullback
Defensive Winger DM DM Defensive Winger
Yes he then may afford DIEGO in the middle
and a lone STRIKER
in order to preserve the 9/11 players defending the lead/draw dogma...

Bring back rossi, criscito and paloucci.

God I hate to say this but trezegol could(will) bring much needed money. There has to be some other way without giving him up. Any ideas out there guys? A way to get some funds without weakening any areas? If trez where to go I really would like lazezzi. He is a hard worker, more mobile and young. I am contradicting myself I know, but sell trez and somehow get lavazzi and defenders. 4 strikers is critical in my opinion for 3 competitions regardless of the formation. We just need a coach that has the balls to sub them on to get that win or rotate when necessary.

By the way, I love how buffon bitch slapped and owned our board. He is a pimp.

It appears that Diego, Cannavaro and Criscito are in the bag. I think Palladino will be used to ensure Criscito comes back without a contract battle.

I'm not so sure about Moretti and Pizarro. I really suspect De Silvestri is coming, and that would be a good investment. Lazio doesn't need both Lichtsteiner and De Silvestri, and De Silvestri is one more likely to be sold, and for a better price.

However, I really doubt Camoranesi or Giovinco are going anywhere. I suspect that even if Ranieri stays (which is incredibly doubtful despite the rhetoric), he's been told to make better use of them to compliment Diego or be tossed very early.

I have the feeling that one of Trezeguet or Iaquinta are gone for sure, with the off-chance both go, in favor of a guy like Quagliarella, who is capable of playing as a right winger or striker. Plus, if Paolucci comes back, he's more likely to be content as a sub, where Trez and Iaquinta would likely lose patience in a WC year.

That way, they have the option to play with a target man (Amauri), three attacking mids (Giovinco/DP-Diego-Quag/Camo) and two defensive mids (Sissoko and one of Poulsen/Zanetti/Marchisio).

All the other departures make total sense.

So my guess is:

IN: Diego, Cannavaro, Criscito, De Silvestri, Quagliarella, Paolucci

OUT: Trezeguet and/or Iaquinta, Tiago, Zebina, Palladino, Zalayeta, Lanzafame, Knezevic, Marchionni or Salihamidzic
