:agree:

Terrible year for QBs in the draft with Lynch, Goff, Cook... and little else. Someone's going to reach in the first round on both of these teams though. That fluke chance of hitting on franchise QB pretty much guarantees a couple teams reach for at least 2 of them in the first round.
Yeah. I'm kind of excited because the Texans could get one of these guys in the 3rd or so and turn them into decent QB in a couple of seasons. Probably the only chance we have at upgrading the position.

I think Connor Cook has huge upside as a solid next-level QB. Very smart, efficient, and rarely turns the ball over. Fairly mobile too for a big QB. Reminds me a bit of Ben Roethlisberger. He had a rough finish to the year with his injury and the egg MSU laid against Bama in the playoff, but I think he has a lower floor than Goff and Lynch. lower ceiling too, which is why he'all likes get drafted behind those two, but I certainly think he's more of a guarantee of at least getting solid QB play. Goff and Lynch both seem pretty much boom or bust. Really haven't been impressed with Goff's decision making this year.

Fun Fact.

Trent Baalke has never drafted a Pro Bowl player in the 2nd round.

For a 2nd round pick, he could get a Super Bowl winning coach.

Just saying.

Both are project QBs that should be taken in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. 49ers are better off sitting with Gabbert through the rebuild and adding to other areas of the team through the draft. Like the o line, linebacking corps and wide receivers.
:agree: we need a corner or offensive line man with that pick. Hell I'd trade down if we could.

We should be doing the same

Any chance they mutually part ways?

Apparently kap had an injured thumb on his throwing hand all year.
Anthony Lynn and Mike Shanahan also being interviewed. Interest in Hue Jackson.

Hue Jackson
Anthony lynn

Rooney Rule.

The 49ers need to make a big splash with their next coach. Those two are 1000 miles west of Big Splash

In other news, Anthony Davis tweeted that he is definitely coming back next year.

And Kaepernick got injured in October against Seattle. He was benched shortly after that

Davis coming back is amazing. Hopefully he can get back to his best. York said he is willing to spend but that dude is a snake.

We should draft a QB in the later rounds, they are all projects anyway. Fill the other holes, give Gab and Kap another year with the new coach and see where they are.

Tampa Bay doing Tampa Bay things.

No real reason to fire Lovie Smith, to be honest. They had a rookie QB and he got 6 wins in a division that includes Carolina,Atlanta, and New Orleans.

Makes sense. Even dumber is that the reason they fired him (allegedly) is because they didn't want their Offensive Coordinator to be hired away from them.

Oh yeah. They also fired him over the phone.

Stay Classy.
