Definitely hurts to be a 49ers fan. Two weeks in a row I couldn't even get to halftime. Disagree that it's because Harbaugh is gone, though. The environment was already toxic last year, and he wouldn't be able to fix things right now.

Almost all new coaches, though. That's a big problem. No more A. Davis, Iupati, Crab, Gore, V. Davis (for all intents and purposes), J. Smith, A.Smith, Willis, Borland, Culliver, etc... there are huge skill/leadership voids amongst the players.

Underwhelming Torrey Smith getting huge money, terrible Darnell Dockett 2M toilet flush -- free agency did not go well -- Boldin probably entering decline, no reprieve from Kaepernick regression, a couple of poor drafts catching up to the team, etc...

It looks bad all the way round, and doesn't resemble a quick fix. Going to be getting a high draft pick the next couple of seasons, IMO.

I guess we'll see. Such a tremendous athlete, I tend to agree... although is that in 1 year, or 3. Is it in San Fran, or elsewhere?

I'm not sure what his ceiling is at this point, but I really don't think it will be nearly as high as I initially thought it would be. Once upon a time, sky high hopes. The team is also going to be paying him big $ while he tries to get back on track, so hopefully his performances get dramatically better.

Would be great if things weren't imploding all around him. I'm certainly not trying to ride this guy like an escaped goat, he needs more help.

Truth, though: when one's thrown 4 INTs (2 for TDs) and completed 5 passes to their own team... well... not much else to say!

It will take some time, we just need to make sure we make the right decisions going forward.

Great article on why Aaron Rodgers will be seen as the best QB of all time. He blows Manning and Brady out of the water on every single stat. Every single one. Both in the regular season and post-season.

Rodgers vs Brady

Regular Season:

Passer Rating ------- 106.4---- 96.3
Completion % ----- 66% --- 63.6%
TD% ----------------6.5% --- 5.5%
INT%----------------1.6% --- 2.0%
YPA------------------8.2 ---- 7.4
YPG------------------259.1----256.5
Rushing YPG--------16.9 ---- 3.9
Rushing TD/16G----2.85 ---- 1.05

Playoffs:

Passer Rating ------101.0---- 89.0
Completion % -----65.4%--- 62.9%
TD% ----------------5.9%--- 4.9%
INT%----------------2.4%--- 1.8%
YPA------------------8.1------ 6.8
YPG------------------248.6 ---------253.3
Rushing YPG -------16------ 3.4
Rushing TDs/G------.25 ---- .17

Yep. Rodgers >Brady. It's not even particularly close. Look at Brady's passer rating. More than 10 points lower in both regular season and post-season.

I seriously don't understand Andy Reid's play calling particularly on that last drive before HT

They ran the ball on 1st down which took the clock from 52secs down to around ~20secs (with TO's in hand)

and then they proceed to run the ball again and then attempt 1-2 pass attempts while mixing in one of those TO's

and then on the final play Smith just takes off for god knows what reason. Padding stats? or just as stupid as his coach?
