I get the feeling that the three strikers (Amauri, Del Piero, Trezeguet) are really respecting eachother and want to do as best for the team. Iaquinta is like the only one who really battles for playing time and stuff.
There is like a relaxed atmosphere. With Capello and Zlatan there was this strange tension that Zlatan HAS to play, no matter what.

Amauri aims to shine in England Thursday 31 July, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Juventus squad has landed at Luton Airport and Amauri is keen to make a case for a starting shirt during the Old Lady’s next three games.

Juve have arrived in England to take on Arsenal and Hamburg in the Emirates Cup before facing Manchester United.

For Amauri, who signed from Palermo at the start of the summer, it is a great chance to impress Coach Claudio Ranieri.

“Being here at Juventus is the opportunity of a lifetime,” he declared. I will try and make the most of it and always give my best.

“I like the competition for places and it motivates me. I think it can help all of us strikers.

“With the quality that we have up front we will have to do everything we can to make the most of the chances we get.

“I have found so many champions here and I think that it will be easier to win with such a strong squad.

“These three friendlies in England will be important to get playing minutes ahead of our main goal – the Champions League preliminaries.”

Amauri’s involvement in the Trofeo TIM was limited as he had to leave the pitch through injury after just 20 minutes of the game against Inter.

“I really wanted to play, but sadly a small injury to my eyebrow forced me to come off early,” the former Chievo man explained.

“It’s a real shame and I was angry but luckily it wasn’t anything serious and I am ready to play again.”

The Emirates Cup takes place this Saturday and Sunday with the Bianconeri facing Arsenal on Saturday at 4.30pm and Hamburg on Sunday at 2pm.

i must say that i am happy with the purchase of amauri .... it was the best choice when you remember who was also mentioned as possible new juve striker ...

Amauri has the body and power our strikers did not have last season.
Further has he a good technique and can create chances by himself ....

all things i brought into discussion when people longed for huntelaar who can't dribble and isn't serie a proven.
furthermore with huntelaar we would have to rely on good crosses and we know that this is exactly the think we can not rely on with camo on the right (say what you want ... he is not the greatest crosses .. remember not every high pass is a cross and his crosses were awful at times last season) and nedved and molinaro on the left.

He better show his worth against arsenal otherwise he is gonna face a lot of criticism (warranted or not) since he is our biggest signing.
