He better show his worth against arsenal otherwise he is gonna face a lot of criticism (warranted or not) since he is our biggest signing.
Why would someone that scored 8 goals in 4 games (competition aise ;)) be heavily criticised for not playing well in his 5th game, especially when its a FRIGGIN meaningless friendly tourno.

Why would he be suddenly be flamed when he was more or less our MOM in the last Dorthmund game. And that had nothing to do with him scoring.

Because thats the purpose with a forum like this ;)

Nah, seriously, there is no way he played well today.

He didnt get much service so in overall thats the main factor, but when he was involved, he botched up or failed to take initiative or do much of anything. Tried to use his body and weight to hold onto the ball, but lost pretty much all challenges.

True about the service,in fairness to him him rose above the defender to get the header in sometimes.Overall maybe not such a good performance, probably because I'm biased towards him :p.

lets give him more time before we say something like this
Come on... I mean i thought that buying amauri was a wrong decision and i still think so (because i thought we needed players in other position more than a 4rth striker). But no one can deny amauri's class. What can the guy do when he doesn't get a proper assist in the game? The guy is a great striker no one can even argue about that......

I was at the game yesterday and kept a close eye on amauri, I felt quite sorry for him because as mentioned already the service to him was poor - maily just twatted at him from chiementi or the defence but my main criticism of our whole team but amauri in particular is that off the ball he is VERY static. He always looks for balls into the feet and very rarely made an effort to pull off his marker, his off the ball running and positioning was pretty poor yesterday. Obviously one game is not enough to judge if he is always like this but i'll see him on Wednesday as well so i hope he moves around more.

The static movement is a problem with everone in our team so i am no way attacking just amauri but as i kept an eye on him yesterday i was quite concerned with him especially as trez is so good at movement and creating space for others which often goes unnoticed

i totally agree, he is very good striker but he needs better service and when he get the ball nobody seems to help him get out of his marker but he look dangerous inside the box when he received crosses.
i think when he is in the starting line up iaquinta have to start with him because he can help him to find better movement in the spaces and he wont need to work like he did without him in hamburg match.
