- Giovinco, Marchisio and De Ceglie will come back.

- No need for a defender atm.

- Trez will stay.

- Looking for a great midfielder.
Good news that the youngsters are all coming back... they will definitely get some exposure, and will hopefully be up to the challenge... as it appears they represent most of our summer reinforcements.

Also good news that Trezeguet is staying. I didn't think he would leave anyway, as I think there will be more than enough room for DP, Trez, Amauri, Iaquinta and Palladino, if the latter two accept the odd wide midfield assignment.

A good midfielder is an absolute must, and I'm glad they realize it. Sissoko, Zanetti and Marchisio are a nice start, but they need one more Pirlo-type to really be competitive. Xabi Alonso, Deco, Aquilani would be who I would aggressively pursue. I don't think Diego is a possibility as I suspect he, not Alonso, will be going to Madrid. Tiago simply needs to go for the good of his career and for Juve.

The one place I am concerned is the statement that they don't need a defender. Though I have hopes that statement had some undertones. One, that they don't need a central defender... but they are still hunting for a wingback to play with De Ceglie. Two, Blanc is sending a message to the teams they have contacted that their asking prices are too high, reiterating that while they'd like to add one, they're not pressed to and won't pay an exorbitant rate.

Blanc seems to have more acumen than Secco or Gigli, so its probable that he doesn't want to completely show his hand... seeing as that is always a stupid thing to do.

A stupid move after all, we actually paid (indirectly but we did) 25 mil for a luxury sub, while we have 2.5 mil starters...
At least we managed to keep our most promising youngsters!

O well... i really wish Amauri all the best and i hope he will get to score more goals than the usual...
A finisher who isnt particulary good at finishing wasnt the brightest idea, but Amauri isnt thaaat old, there is still plenty of room for improvement and i hope he will be proved more useful than Iaquinta.

I think the importance of this transfer will be fully discovered next season!

Now, time to concentrate on our real problems at defense and midfield!

Do you have the slightest idea how transfers work? Judging by your posts I think you don't have a clue how it goes.

It's not that simple as you make it out to be. Zamparini first asked 25m Eur for Amauri and we made that deal about 10m Eur less. So thank God you weren't there.

Also did it occur to you that Udinese might not want to sell Zapata? Right, of course not. We're Juventus. Nobody dares to reject us.

No u can tell me or better i can learn so much from u...

First of all, the price tag (25m€) for him, was over exaggerated AND no body would pay that kind of money for a player who isn't in a top club or in his national team...But hey, we did make Zaparini weak right (sarcasm).... 12,5m€ + Nocerino (7,5m€) and half of Lanzafame (guess 2.5m€-some reports say that we could get 7m€ from West ham)...so do the math...

I said that "we" could have spend that kind of money better, like i don't know maybe on the d-fence...who is essential for good resolt's in CL...But that is just my opinion, what do i know, righ?

Teacher  (again with the sarcasm) ;)

Ranieri: «Amauri will make us improve even more»
Despite being thousands of miles away from Italy, one of the first to comment on Juventus’ signing of Brazilian striker Amauri was Claudio Ranieri. The manager, who has just led his team to victory against Melbourne Victory, a win that ended the summer tour and the whole 2007/08 season too, is relishing the prospect of training the new signing and this were his comments on receiving the good news.

«This is a player we've been following for a long time. After his injury he immediately returned to play at the highest level and he showed it against us too, scoring two brilliant goals in the game in Palermo. He's a very strong striker, and will further strengthen our forward line up, a line up that has already shown its worth. Being the player he is, he'll be able to play alongside Del Piero as well as with Trezeguet or Iaquinta and he could also play in a three-man attack if needed. With Amauri's arrival the process of strengthening our team continues, so that we can try and do even better next season».

Amauri: «Juve, my personal victory»
«I was an unknown when I came to Italy and after eight years I find myself as one of the future stars of a team that have victory in their DNA. This is a dream come true for me, a personal victory».
These were the first words uttered by Amauri as a Juventus player. The forward, after signing a four-year deal, was introduced officially during a press conference at the Vinovo sport centre. «I signed today – Amauri explained – but I could've signed last week, or two weeks ago. The agreement had already been reached».

«We never feared the deal wouldn't go through – M.D. Jean Claude Blanc clarified – We went forward with this transfer respecting everyone; seeing as there were several people involved, the situation was a complex one and we needed the right amount of time. He only signed today even though the medical took place on Tuesday. But Nocerino wasn't here Tuesday, as he was with the Olympic National team in Toulon, whereas it was important for all parties to sign at the same time».

There was talk of Amauri joining Juventus for several months and, despite other clubs being interested, the Brazilian's first choice was always the Bianconeri:
«AC Milan were interested in me too, it's true, but as I always said to my agents, my first choice was Juve. There was talk of Juventus being interested in signing me already back in January and I wanted to see if there was any truth to this. Well, when I met the management I immediately knew what I read in the newspapers was true. The chance to play the Champions League was also important in making me choose this club».

Juventus have found another adaptable striker, able to play in any role up front: «At Chievo I was the second striker playing wide. This year at Palermo I played as centre forward and I liked it. I am lucky in being able to play in both roles».

Amauri, Del Piero, Iaquinta, Trezeguet; Juventus now have an exceptional forward line:
«I'm honoured to play with Alex, David and Vincenzo… three formidable players. I'm here to grow and take my chances. This year's League run already showed the strength of this team: they have the two top scorers. Next year we surely aim to win something and we have the players to achieve this. Juve have always won a lot, they've always been the kings in Italy and Europe and they want to be that again. And I want to be part of their return to the top».

At the end of the press conference, M.D. Blanc answered the journalists' questions about Juve's transfer market: « Our priority was reaching an agreement with a player of Amauri's class. That was our first objective. Obviously we want to complete the squad and our next objective is in midfield. We're having discussions now and we'll see if we can go through with another deal of the same quality as the one we've just completed. As for the defence, we'll have Mellberg in the middle, whereas on the left we'll insist with our policy of favouring younger players, betting on Molinaro and De Ceglie, who will be coming back to Juventus, as will Giovinco and Marchisio. Selling Trezeguet? Absolutely not. Our aim is to strengthen the team in view of the chance to fight to win three tournaments and to do so we'll have an extremely strong battery of forwards in Amauri, Trezeguet, Del Piero and Iaquinta»

funny that nobody even mentioned palla....
still i don't know what to think about noces and pallas department... noce did well the first half of the season but still i doubt that he is the next gattuso or something like that... the thing about palla is he never really played as a striker.. he had an awful season no doubt about that but still its really hard to sit on the bench and then play on a position u never did before..

what is with lanzafame? will he be loaned or coowned by parlermo?
so the deal is 22.5 mil€ for amauri - 7.5 mil€ for noce and maybe - coowned lanzafame?

Amauri is a great player, there is no doubt about that, but wasn't the player we lacked in the squad. I can't understand what is the problem with Iaquinta? what he had to do to be a regular player. He scored goals made assists and was a hard worker. Unless if we are going to play with three forwards, then it's a good move. 22 Million wasn't really necessary to spend here, only if that's not most of the transfer budget. and also his wages is ridiculous (is that 4.5 Million Euros??).

Someone mentioned Gilardino move as a joke comparing the deals, well Gilardino is younger and to remind you he was the top scorer few seasons back, he is young and not matured completely as a footballer, and look what he is going to do with Fiorentina, and not to mention 1.6 Million he will earn must be a joke

Selling Nocerino the u-23 Captain of Italy is not a good move, he was performing very good at the start of the season, then he lost his form, will we sell anyone who lose form for a while??

We better buy a great central defender and stop brining every garbage/free player out there, or at least get a great left back and get rid of that Molinaro clown.

First of all, Real Madrid would be ready to pay €25m for Amauri. And using your calculations, we payed €15m for Amauri as Palermo payed us €7.5m.

If you ask me, €15m for Amauri is quite a good deal. It is useless to discuss something with people like you, because for everything that happens with our club (even if it's something great) you would try to invent something just to criticise our BOD. I guess even if we signed Kaka for €30m you would still criticise our BOD, because we could've used the money to strengthen other areas. You're talking about signing a defender, but is it that easy to sign one? I'm talking about world class defenders. No one is avaiable, and even if they were, they would cost €20m or even more.

Well put my friend, but i guess some people don't understand this...
Soon or later people will realize, i just hope that Juve wont have to pay the bill,
we can only hope we wont repeat the same mistakes over and over again...

You that you want us, to bet our season on Molinaro and De Ceglie??

funny that nobody even mentioned palla....
I think it is clear that Palla will be sacrificed, since Amauri's arrival,
it was either Iaquinta or Palla, one should hit the road, CR mentioned 4 players as our forwards and he didnt include Palla.
That surely means Palla is not considered as a forward in CR's team, he will either leave now, or we will keep him until x-mas, as a winger...
