Zamparini Gives Up On Giovinco
Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has admitted that he has given up hope of signing Sebastian Giovinco.
The transfer soap opera involving Amauri continues to wrangle on, although it has been reported that a deal with Juventus could be completed by the end of today.
Part of the reason for the delay in finalising the deal revolved around Sebastian Giovinco. Zamparini wanted to sign the 21-year-old sensation in a co-ownership deal, however Claudio Ranieri has made it perfectly clear that he will not allow any such ceding of the starlet.
It appeared that the Amauri transfer could collapse as a result, but now an alternative arrangement is said to have been found including Antonio Nocerino and either Davide Lanzafame or Claudio Marchisio.
“I have come to learn that Juve do not want to sell Giovinco,” Zamparini admitted to Mediagoal.
The Rosanero are set to sell three of their biggest assets this summer, with Christian Zaccardo joining Wolfsburg, and captain Andrea Barzagli also on his way out.
"As soon as the director of sport Rino Foschi finalises the sales Amauri, Barzagli and Zaccardo, we will focus on our transfers for next season,” Zampa concluded.
