  • Giovinco + cash

  • De Ceglie + Criscito + cash

I thought Mauro/Amauri has a lot to do with the African Moors who were part of the Roman Empire (called Mauri by the Romans) and who later ruled Spain and Portugal for centuries.
Even the name Mauro means dark skinned.

But that's only the boring historian speaking out of me :D
While that may be true for the origin of the name, the spanish and portuguese colonized south-america much later. Although they of course did take african slaves with them.

    Yawn... I love history

So Nocerino is a goner for sure, I really hope they can they can manage to squeeze in Almiron or Marachonni since it would be sad to see Marchisio or De ceglie go

The thing is I don't know who to believe when this kind of news pop out. One who's working at the clinic where Juve players take medicals...says it's a smokescreen and we'll get Huntelaar. The others(2) who I don't know what the hell they do say we'll get Amauri for sure and Nocerino is in the deal and he accepted. I believe/hope they have links to some media people and pushes me to believe the guy at the clinic. :D
    Bro your in DEEP!! :D

Lets just hope there right and not buzzed off the Novocaine...

The origin of the name Mauro is actually Greek. Μαύρο (mavro) is the greek word for "black" and the Greeks were the ones who called the northern African tribes Mauri(si). The Romans took it from the Greeks and they called their african allies, later occupiers of parts of Italy, with the one name Mauri.
Then Mauro/Maura became a name, mostly in Italy.

Btw, what was the discussion about ? :D
Why are you telling me about the colonization of SA ?

Since you ppl have gone off topic, l ll push you more:andy:
Despite being Greek, i never thought that Camo's name, means black,
    because of the accent!!

Funny thing is that A-mauri would mean non-blacks:D

But the most funny name, would be by far, Almiron's, if you know what i mean:gsol:

What was written in his post?>
Go back a page, Sadomin has it quoted I think.

Not necessarily, a lot of names are of German, Scandinavian and Arab origin.
Yes.. that doesn't change anything about what I said. The Italian names and Spanish names in SA America stem from the respective european country.
