Zidane's transfer fee was three-million British pounds. There were other midfielders available, like Dugarry, but Juventus decided to keep true to their frugal traditions and opted for the cheaper Zidane. There are other, cheaper alternatives to Amauri. Hell, Juventus should poach from Bordeaux once again, and maybe it'll pay off just as well. Cavenaghi, anyone?

well it looks like zamparini wants nocerino plus 50% of lanzafame (plus money of course) [source: gazzetta]... i don't think we'll ever need someone like lanzafame. He may be a good guy, but i think once trez or dp retire, we'll splash some money on someone on a whole other level, and should we get amauri now, with palla coming up... i don't see what we should do with lanzafame. as for nocerino, i DO actually believe that he'll turn out better... i think he could definately be tomorrow's gattuso for italy, but the question is; do we really need a gattuso? We have sissoko who's the same age (more or less), but doing A LOT more. So that deal would be awesome if u ask me. nocerino and lanzafame are replaceable...

Plus, the article states that palla has refuted to move to palermo. I welcome that... i have no problem with selling him, but not at this moment. His market value is far below his real potential. I know i know, so far he hasn't proved anything, but i do believe that he'll turn out great...

i fail to see how this should be such a great deal from the oh-so-wunderful-moggi. Almiron 10mio, marchionni 5mio, nocerino 6mio, 50% criscito 2mio + 10-12mio, thats 35 mio for amauri and barzagli (who's definately NOT in his best form)... WAYYY TOO MUCH, buddy...

Juve Want To Sign Amauri – Zampa Confirms

If it wasn’t already common knowledge, Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that Juventus have approached him about signing Amauri.

The Brazilian striker is regarded as one of Serie A’s top strikers and he was Juve’s nemesis at the weekend, scoring twice in Palermo’s 3-2 win at the Stadio Barbera.

The 27-year-old has been promised that he will be allowed to leave Sicily in the summer in order to join a big club, and Juventus are currently the overwhelming favourites to snap him up.

"I had a request from Juventus about talks regarding Amauri,” said the fiery Zamparini. “We will meet before the end of the championship.

"I have not asked any Italian team to make an offer. I have received interest from two foreign teams, Real Madrid and Barcelona, and also from British teams, but there is a problem because Amauri is still waiting for his European passport."

Juventus had reportedly come to an agreement with Palermo to sign Amauri for €15m, plus young starlets Sebastian Giovinco, Paolo De Ceglie and Claudio Marchisio.

However Claudio Ranieri vetoed the deal at the last minute, meaning that other possible part-exchange players are now being considered, including the likes of Antonio Nocerino, Domenico Criscito and Marco Marchionni.

These three are some of the biggest prospects in all of italy and regulars for both clubs and u-21. What more does he need to convince him ?

Ranieri knows football. By this i mean that Ranieri can spot a great talent. We can doubt his tactics or his winning mentality, but i think the guy has proven himself as someone who has the nose for talents.

On the other hand we have our BOD and if i'm not wrong all of them are people who don't have much experience in football (unlike the guys from our previous board where Moggi was an ex-scout while Bettega was a great player himself).
So, it's understandable if they make few mistakes here and there but what they mustn't do is doing things on their own, without asking our coach and our scouts for advice.
