Madrid Make 25M Amauri Bid?

Real Madrid have reportedly tabled a mega-money offer for Palermo striker Amauri, in an attempt to snatch him from the grasp of Juventus

The 27-year-old centre forward has impressed for the Sicilian club, having scored 22 goals in 34 Serie A games since moving from Chievo Verona in 2006.

Such form - despite a long injury lay-off in the middle - has garnered strong interest from Italian giants Juventus, who have supposedly made an initial offer of 15 million euros as they look to freshen up their ageing forward line.

But according to Italian media, Los Merengues have swooped in with a 25 million offer bid for the Brazilian star – a figure that Juve are unlikely to match.

However, it appears the Bianconeri are willing to offer a number of add-ons in an attempt to sway Palermo, including the loan of Sebastian Giovinco and the sale of Marco Marchionni. It could come down to whether Palermo prefer cash up front, or players in part-exchange.

Real Madrid are keen to sign one top striker as Ruud van Nistelrooy's cover and long term successor, and reports recently have suggested that Amauri, Karim Benzema and Klaas Jan Huntelaar are the options they are considering.

Latest rumor which is more reasonable is 10m € + Nocerino OR Palladino. Palladino doesn't seem to want to go to Palermo while Zamparini would really like Nocerino.

DP and Amauri played in a friendly game for some players who retired or something.

"It's a dream for any player to have a chance to play for Juve"

"Playing with Del Piero was pure fun, it was an honor playing with him"

 great post man, no offence i never thought that england had great talents (though i lived there for 5 years). But for someone who's foreigner like fred (i guess :gsol: ). It is exciting to watch EPL, i don't think he cares how many english players in EPL. As long as teams r doing good in europe. But again i don't blame arsenal for england's lack of talents (IMO english players R just not talented only very few r)....
Two bolded parts are absolutely true.

:agree: yes, I'm glad that someone focused on the rest of my post and not just my last paragraph which I admit is very foolish and I'm not suprised at being hounded for it. I have given an apology for all to see on the previous page, so can you read that before you lay into me, and plase just read the big large piece of text above it. although arsenal did have good youth products like bentley and sidwell they never had patience for them as english players tend to mature later that spanish, dutch ect.
not true.

Bentley didnt have patience to stay in Arsenal because he wasnt a starter. Wenger wanted to keep him, but Bentley didnt want to stay because "he didnt get
enough first team chances " and rightfully so of course, does he expect to play instead of Pires, Ljungberg ?

Its not our clubs fault, that England doesnt have enough talent. I personally dont expect Wenger to let players play for us just because they're English. The good English players are just too overpriced. Just look how much the Mancs paid for Rio, Rooney and Carrick.

I'd rather get Hleb for 12M than Carrick for 30, i'd rather take RVP for 3.5M than Rooney for 38M and of course i'd take Toure for 400k than Rio for 40M.

Oh and apology unaccepted :)

I think the biggest fan base for juve outside italy is in libya (i think its fred's country). The majority of people there r crazy about juve.
True. Almost my whole family are Juve fans.

even if Madrid have made a bid, if Amauri has set his sights on playing for us, then it could be in our favor.

Amauri-DP-

Amauri--Trez-

Amauri-Iaq

Amauri alone

Amauri-Trez--DP

The great thing about Amauri is that he could fit in in all those partnerships. It gives us a good tactical advantage.

Btw, not that I pointed out already, that the reason I wouldnt want Amauri is if he costs ridicolously overrated sum like 25m (unlikely), then for sure I would say no even if we were filthy rich, because Berbatov is available for that sum and he is MUUUUUCH better. With all due respect to the quite good player Amauri is.

Berbatov won't be sold for less than 30-35m.

Since our board seems set on signing him, my concern is not that we overpay, but that we give away some of our youngsters.

Amauri dreaming of Juve April 8, 2008

Palermo striker Amauri has revealed his desire to play for Juventus.

Real Madrid, AC Milan, Chelsea and Juventus are all reportedly tracking the highly-rated Brazilian - who has hit 13 Serie A goals so far this term.

Amauri, who is under contract with the Sicilian giants until June 2011, is in the process of acquiring Italian citizenship.

Palermo and the player's agent already revealed earlier this year that Amauri, who has a price tag set at 20million euros, could leave the club this northern summer.

"To play for Juve would be a dream come true for any player," said Amauri.

"There have been rumours but we will have to wait and see what happens in the end.

"I am very happy with how my season is going."

The 27-year-old joined Palermo from Chievo Verona on an 8million euro ($A20million) transfer deal in the summer of 2006.

I have a feeling Amauri's case will be like Sissoko's, with almost everybody being against his transfer, but once he scores a goal, everybody will hail him as the best striker in the world :shifty:

Having said that, i do agree with Osman, 25M is too much, and i do agree with Salvatore, that juve dont need more strikers.

I dont agree with the people who question Amauri's quality though.
