Madrid Make 25M Amauri Bid?

Real Madrid have reportedly tabled a mega-money offer for Palermo striker Amauri, in an attempt to snatch him from the grasp of Juventus

The 27-year-old centre forward has impressed for the Sicilian club, having scored 22 goals in 34 Serie A games since moving from Chievo Verona in 2006.

Such form - despite a long injury lay-off in the middle - has garnered strong interest from Italian giants Juventus, who have supposedly made an initial offer of 15 million euros as they look to freshen up their ageing forward line.

But according to Italian media, Los Merengues have swooped in with a 25 million offer bid for the Brazilian star – a figure that Juve are unlikely to match.

However, it appears the Bianconeri are willing to offer a number of add-ons in an attempt to sway Palermo, including the loan of Sebastian Giovinco and the sale of Marco Marchionni. It could come down to whether Palermo prefer cash up front, or players in part-exchange.

Real Madrid are keen to sign one top striker as Ruud van Nistelrooy's cover and long term successor, and reports recently have suggested that Amauri, Karim Benzema and Klaas Jan Huntelaar are the options they are considering.

Bentley didnt have patience to stay in Arsenal because he wasnt a starter. Wenger wanted to keep him, but Bentley didnt want to stay because "he didnt get
enough first team chances " and rightfully so of course, does he expect to play instead of Pires, Ljungberg ?

Its not our clubs fault, that England doesnt have enough talent. I personally dont expect Wenger to let players play for us just because they're English. The good English players are just too overpriced. Just look how much the Mancs paid for Rio, Rooney and Carrick.

I'd rather get Hleb for 12M than Carrick for 30, i'd rather take RVP for 3.5M than Rooney for 38M and of course i'd take Toure for 400k than Rio for 40M.

I think the biggest fan base for juve outside italy is in libya (i think its fred's country). The majority of people there r crazy about juve.

Amauri, who is under contract with the Sicilian giants until June 2011, is in the process of acquiring Italian citizenship.

Palermo and the player's agent already revealed earlier this year that Amauri, who has a price tag set at 20million euros, could leave the club this northern summer.

"To play for Juve would be a dream come true for any player," said Amauri.

"There have been rumours but we will have to wait and see what happens in the end.

"I am very happy with how my season is going."

The 27-year-old joined Palermo from Chievo Verona on an 8million euro ($A20million) transfer deal in the summer of 2006.

I have a feeling that this deal is allready a done deal.....

I have a feeling Amauri's case will be like Sissoko's, with almost everybody being against his transfer, but once he scores a goal, everybody will hail him as the best striker in the world

Having said that, i do agree with Osman, 25M is too much, and i do agree with Salvatore, that juve dont need more strikers.

I dont agree with the people who question Amauri's quality though.
