Honestly I don’t think that palermo can afford to pay him what the big dogs can. And also who are they gonna bring in to surround amauri with? Whoever they do plan on bringing in to help him will not be enough to contend in serie A or get a CL spot. And by the time they have something that can contend (being that Amauri is still wearing pink), he will be too old and out of his prime.

and thats why he should come to juve :juvefan2:
Maybe he meant he will be the starting block as in they will sell him, and use the money to reconstruct the team? :xfinger: :D

IMO Amauri fits the level of palermo pretty well. I actually consider palermo a pretty decent club. They have a not-that-bad defense lined up, their midfield is a bit shaky, but imo, palermo could, with 2 or 3 reinforcements, compete for a uefa-cup spot next season. ATM, i think their table-position does not match their real quality. Should they really have a long-term plan to get into international business, i'd say holding amauri will be a first step.

(btw; ancelotti confirmed gila for next season (link), no one knows what those words are worth in reality but still...)
Maybe if they didn't sell all their players to Torino, they would still be in a UEFA Cup position. I still don't know why they let Corini leave.

Well I never thought of it that way but I like the sound of that even better :toast:

I really hate seeing good players go to waste at bad clubs

with barzagli it's all a question of money i'd say. Should we get him for something around 10-12 mio, i'd think about it, we need more depth in our defense anyway (imagine chiellini injured, that would be hell at this moment). maybe we can do something with loaning one of our youngsters... atm i think fiorentina have more chances to get him

He wants Fiorentina, he tried getting his agent to transfer him there last year but Fiorentina just fell short of Zampas asking price.. He's a Florence native and if you havent noticed in that goal.com his agent was speaking to an official viola news website.. In any case i see many better alternatives and a fair few pages back in this thread i think it was Alen who came up with a few really thought out posts which were pretty much spot on in regards to the quality of Barzagli

Barzagli Is For Sale - Agent
Palermo defender Andrea Barzagli is for sale, according to his agent Claudio Orlandini. Fiorentina, Milan and Juventus are said to be in the driver's seat to sign the international player.

Barzagli is 'officially' on the transfer list according to Orlandini as he was contacted by 'Violanews.com' in order to find out whether the player will sign for the Tuscan side this summer.

"I confirm what I said last time: there is no new news with regards to this and the last negotiation dates back to last June," declared the agent.

"On the newspapers and on the websites there is continuous talk, but al I can say is there is nothing set," he continued, "As there have been few contacts.

"At this point I don't know if Fiorentina is interested in the player. All I can say is that this year, contrary to the previous seasons, Barzagli is 'officially' for sale, and therefore the club is ready to negotiate.

"However, I repeat, it's still early and I don't know about any Fiorentina contact, nor with other clubs, including Milan and Juventus," concluded Orlandini.

The impression is that these three teams are the front runners, and a lot will depend on which teams will be playing in the Champions League next year.

I can't imagine Barzagli playing at Fiorentina. From where he is now, that won't be a big step forward.
I'm not convinced he warrants or even wants such a step to a much bigger club like us or milan.. He has stated before the whole i love the viola blah blah thing before too
