Amauri? He is not a champion, Trezeguet is much better. I do not understand why Juventus are going to buy him.”

Moggi :touched:

always be our best Transfer guru ever .

Yeah, Roma would suit Amauri perfectly. As long as he stays out of Juve.

Amauri Will Stay At Palermo – Zamparini

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has made a sensational u-turn, and now says that star striker Amauri will stay on at the club next season.

The Brazilian, who is widely regarded as one of Serie A’s top marksmen, had been promised by Zamparini that he would be allowed to move on to a big club in the summer.

A host of Europe’s giants, including Roma, Milan, Chelsea, and Barcelona have all been linked, but it was Juventus who were considered to be strong favorites to sign the player.

Amauri was in fine form at the weekend, scoring twice in Palermo’s 3-2 home defeat to Genoa, and this performance seems to have caused a change of heart from Zamparini.

“After his two goals against Genoa on Saturday, I’ve convinced myself that Amauri will stay on for next season,” the fiery President stated.

“I will refuse all offers for him. He will be our starting block in the reconstruction of this Palermo team.”

Amauri has hit the back of the net nine times in 27 Serie A appearances this term, thus comfortably making him his club’s top scorer.

the guy is full of bullshit!! First he wants to sell him, then he talks about teams that wants him and now he's saying he wont sell him!!! I think the real story is this, he wants to sell amauri sooo bad so he did spread out all these romurs about clubs wanting him. Now that he didn't get the price that he wants (and probably not many teams offer anything) so he's saying that he wants to keep him (thats my version of the story)........

good news, imo. He's never worth 20mio €. there are A LOT of better strikers out there for 20 mio. He's probably not that bad, and could even improve in a team which can deliver some decent balls to him. But he's too old to spend that much money on. For 20mio, we could get mario gomez (whom i rate higher thatn amauri, and i watch the bundesliga), or maybe even huntelaar (who may or may not be better, but at least he's far younger)
Zamparini probably got a bit confused after everyone jumped off the amauri-deal as his demand was made public :) he probably realised that he won't get more than... let's say 13mio, and then decided not to sell him.

I think it`s media bullshit though. There`s no way they`ll keep him in Palermo one more year.

I think he`ll sign for Milan as replacement for Gilardino who will come here. :p

nah, don't think gila will come over here. Maybe he'll be swapped (+€) with amauri. Maybe gila will even stay in milan. Amauri to milan sounds kind of possible to me, although it hink that milan are aiming for something on another level, like drogba. Should that not work out, they could very well knock on zamparini's door.

Honestly; i know this is all media BS, but i could imagine that there were many interested teams in amauri (because he HAS technique, i'm not denying that) but as soon as the price was revealed, a lot of teams jumped off.

I wouldn`t buy Gila whatever the price but I am afraid our management would.

In the end someone will buy Amauri,Huntelaar and Gomez so we`ll be stuck with Gilardino.

That's a bit too one-sided imo. You're right; Gila is shitty. He was a bit better some seasons ago, but never was on an international top-level. He had some decent performances in the past but never really made that step upwards. But the reasons to sell him are simply not given. The only reason to sell him is to earn those few bucks out of his transfer and his wages. But i don't think milan are in such desperate need for money. Even if they should not qualify for CL. I mean they are far from well-packed in their forward-department, and although there will probably be someone arriving, gila as a 3rd or 4th backup.... why not? Tere is no team really who will spend 10 mio or so for gila. Inter, Juve (i hope), Fiorentina, Roma are looking for better players, and all the others just can't pay it. ATM gila is just overrated (considering is market value) which will make it very difficult to sell him at a good price.

My guess; he'll stay in milan or he will be traded for someone, maybe even to a foreign league. Just my guess though, as long as he stays away from juve he and galliani can do whatever they want.

Man he did nothing for the past two years and plus he`s getting wages for that. They must get rid of him.

Roma already want him and you`ll see that many strong clubs will join the race this summer.

I agree, we all know not to take Zampas comment too seriously & i definately think Amauri is Milan bound but i think Fiorentina will push hard for Gila which could work in our favour

U all forgetting that milan still owns oliveira (the guy is loaned to zaragoza) and he's doing pretty good there (10 goals in 16 games). So there is a possibility that milan wont get any attacker in the summer. They've got pato, gila, poluski, ronaldo and oliveira those 5 attackers r in the team.........

Dude amauri's career is sooo fucked if this is true

Poor guy, I hope he doesn't have to be forced to stay there. Ruining his career little by little, day by day
:agree:

Although when he says he will be the starting block in the reconstruction of Palermo, it makes you wonder what exactly he has in mind. Who knows? Maybe next season they will be competing for a CL spot, but for now I agree that he deserves to play for a bigger team.

Honestly I don’t think that palermo can afford to pay him what the big dogs can. And also who are they gonna bring in to surround amauri with? Whoever they do plan on bringing in to help him will not be enough to contend in serie A or get a CL spot. And by the time they have something that can contend (being that Amauri is still wearing pink), he will be too old and out of his prime.

and thats why he should come to juve :juvefan2:

IMO Amauri fits the level of palermo pretty well. I actually consider palermo a pretty decent club. They have a not-that-bad defense lined up, their midfield is a bit shaky, but imo, palermo could, with 2 or 3 reinforcements, compete for a uefa-cup spot next season. ATM, i think their table-position does not match their real quality. Should they really have a long-term plan to get into international business, i'd say holding amauri will be a first step.

(btw; ancelotti confirmed gila for next season (link), no one knows what those words are worth in reality but still...)
