I've gotta go against you here man, i dont think Amauri is bad or anything, and i definetely dont think we are going to get Adebayor. But you say Amauri is better than Adebayor so convincingly, and i cant agree. He has more experience at the league level in italy yes, but Adebayor has been hotting up arguably the best league in the world at the moment, and has more CL experience than Amauri does, plus he is much younger. Technique wise u may be right, but once the goals keep coming it rly doesnt matter. So i truly believe getting Adebayor would be better than getting Amauri.
Then again, how many goals will Adebayor score in a team like Palermo where he doesn't have Fabregas and Hleb creating for him 10 chances per match ?

If the rumour about Arsenal's interest is true and if they are really ready to offer 20m eur for him (will this be the highest transfer fee payed in their history, Fred? ) then doesn't that make you think that Amauri is really something ? Why would Wenger want to pay so much for him when he already has Adebayor and Van Persie ?

Although, i doubt the rumour has anything to do with reality.
First of all, Arsenal can't buy Amauri for now. He's non-EU who never played for his national team. The British won't give him a working license.
In order to go to England, Amauri will have to get the Italian passport first. But if he gets that passport i'm 100% sure he'll stay in Italy.

Very good point, i cant argue with that for sure, Hleb and Fabregas are both extremely good playmakers/providers. However, i really dont buy into the Arsenal rumour of wanting him at all, maybe ill be proven wrong or something but for now im very sceptical. But Adebayor and Van Persie are both great players and of good age, and Walcott is possibly a future star, i suppose Amauri > Bendtner, but i just dont see this transfer happening. But don't get me wrong, as i said in the original post, Amauri is not bad at all, but i just would prefer Adebayor for 6-7 years, than Amauri for 3-4 (assuming they would both retire or be sold when they reach the same age). Really and truly though, realistically speaking, i dont really want either player to come to juve all that much, so no biggie.

I believe Wiltord cost that much.

I see what you mean, but in that case, our opinion just differs then. I think the same as Alen, with someone like fabregas behind you, it's way easier to score then with someone from palermo. But i don't want to make adebayor any less than he is. It may be just my opinion, but it's just like, the most goals i've seen from him just did not show any outstanding skill or technique. I kind of see him like toni, who has not a really good technique, but even when he stumbles, he manages to give the ball a deflection so that it goes in. It's not that it's bad to have such a player, but if i have to choose between amauri or adebayor (for juve!!), i'd take the first one any time.
That said, i didn't believe for one moment that adebayor was going to leave arsenal. Then again, i don't believe any word of arsenal being interested in amauri. He just doesn't fit their 'prey' characteristics, costs a lot, cannot play in england at the moment (law)... it just doesn't make sense. Even Zamparini said there were no requests from arsenal whatsoever

In my personal opinion, I like to see Juve change its strike force every 3 - 4 years to keep the players hungry!

Alex and Trez are the exception though! :D

Fair enough, if our future strikers aren't gonna have the same hunger that DP and Trez have to this very day after all their time at juve, then yeh, change can be good. But as u said theres always exceptions to the rule, and in our case we are amazingly lucky to be able to have both DP and Trez playing at a great level for so long, with so much passion for the club.

Not just Juve for Amauri

Palermo striker Amauri is considering a number of proposals, according to his agent Mariano Grimaldi.

The flamboyant 27-year-old forward has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 13 goals in 32 appearances, attracting the overtures of Italy and Europe’s giants.

“I still don’t know where Amauri will end up,” Grimaldi admitted. “He interests a lot of teams and some of these have been audacious enough to make their offers public.

“We are doing our best to evaluate which of these solutions would be best for Amauri. There are many prestigious clubs interested and some of them have advanced proposals to Palermo.”

Speculation over Amauri’s future has reached fever pitch in recent days, but Grimaldi’s comments come as a surprise.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini yesterday revealed that, despite reports of a £17m bid from Arsenal, only Juventus have registered their interest through the correct channels.

“There has only been Juventus,” he noted. “No other clubs have contacted me, neither from Spain nor from England. There is the problem of the player’s passport.”

Brazilian-born Amauri is still waiting for his Italian and EU citizenship to be confirmed. The former Parma and Napoli player is eligible to become an Italian after living in Italy for seven years and marrying there.

Amauri has acknowledged, albeit indirectly, his attraction to Juventus, lavishing praise on Alessandro Del Piero.

“I have always considered Del Piero as a formidable footballer and this season he is demonstrating why,” he admitted.
