I see that people here have primarily 2 arguments against bringing in amauri:

1) he is not worth the money/players that we are supposedly going to give up to acquire him, being that we need to address other positions that we need to fill.

2) he is not as good as he seems, the word being thrown around here is >> overrated

Well I already made my opinion known about how I think the supposed deal is a bit too much from our end, but to the ppl opposed to getting amauri totally need to realize that your alternate to acquiring him is not guaranteed to be successful here either. Its not written anywhere that amauri will fail here and someone else brought here instead of him will succeed by any means. I understand you guys have your opinions and I like hearing about other players instead of amauri or better but we are not in talks with most of those players thus ruling them out as possibilities.

And once again I don't think our board is that dumb. Questionable, yes. Dumb, no.

maybe it's a smoke-screen to get Barzagli...earlier in the season Gigli publicly mentioned Huntelaar as a primary transfer target as well...but nothing has materialised since, online or other wise

Why can't there be a selection for just "cash"?
Because we cant afford him!

Unfortunately,(or fortunately) our board isnt capable of pulling up those smoke screens anymore.
Secco isnt Moggi, all the signs we made so far,
were posted in forums and printed in papers, with details,
long before they become true. Our board havent got the ability to surprise anyone. To do that you must have vision, but they are always a few steps behind...

I just cant stress enough the importance of your first point within a paragraph...(wrote some pages about that)

For the second one, i need to point out the fact, no matter how good and efficient Amauri may look now, in an inferior team, as the lone striker, he has absolutely no chance to shine like that, in a team like Juve. Simply because we dont play like that and because we already have many options upfront. So even if Amauri wont choke in such a big club and has the necessary time to demonstrate his value, he wont be the same man he is now. Iaquinta is the perfect example, he is not bad, he is the very same player he was in Udinese, but this is not enough for Juve.
I dont think that anyone ever said that Amauri isnt a very very good player.
But he is not what we need the most!
By the time we will buy him and become a Juve sub, automatically his value drops 30-40%
If we had the abundance of money and a decent player for every position on the field, (at least the starters) then i bet 80% of the anti-Amauri voices wouldnt be heard, including mine!
But sacrifices, as Giovinco + 19 mil are totally unacceptable, esp with players like De Ceglie and Molinaro as starters in the LB!!

because we don't have that much. Plus, nobody in the world would pay 25 million euros for amauri.
:agree: , well maybe Chelsea would, if they firstly got 40 mil for Drogba:p

I think people are more inclined to Amauri now because we saw what he could do a week and a bit ago. Obviously, everyone here would rather take Amauri and put him in a Juventus jersey instead of wearing a shirt of a rival in Serie A. We fear the possibility of Juventus getting hammered everytime they come up against him now just because of one performance. That's just how I see it.

Personally, I'd prefer that Amauri goes abroad to Madrid or Chelsea, and Juventus pick up Cavenaghi. I've got this good feeling about Cavenaghi...and the best part is that Secco doesn't have to purge Juventus' prospects (not Giovinco, I figured he'd stay) as part of the fee.
Bordeaux wont let Cavenaghi go cheaply though, they just recently bought him, and he's in a great patch of form. Personally i think he's worth the risk. He certainly has all the raw ingredients.

I too hope to see him in a Juventus jersey. I know that he is currently on form but and remember the days that he played at River Plate. Does anyone know how much his would cost transfer market? I am thinking between 10-14 million euros.

Palermo To Sell Amauri, Buy Budan
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini confirmed that he is interested in signing Parma's Igor Budan and will be meeting today Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli to talk about the sale of Amauri. It's a busy week for Zamparini, who will be negotiating sales and purchases for the upcoming transfer market in summer.

On this note, he confirmed the rumours that the Bianconeri want to sign Amauri, even though the deal is still far away from being reached.

"On Tuesday I will meet president Cobolli Gigli, but it's not true that we shall close the deal," revealed the Rosanero president to 'Radio Kiss Kiss'.

"It will be a meeting to establish if there are Juve players who interest Palermo and vice versa," he continued.

Zamparini already has a clear idea on who will be substituting Amauri in attack.

"We have already signed De Melo, and we have Cavani and Miccoli. Palladino? No, we don't like him after he declared that he does not want to come to Sicily. However, we're thinking about Budan.

"We're working to create a Palermo side which can be competitive for a Champions League spot. It will not be easy, but one thing is certain: Colantuono will be the coach," concluded Zamparini.

Ranieri: 'Amauri we need for the Champions'

14:40, 15 April

Claudio Ranieri welcomes Amauri. The coach of Juventus said in a press conference: "Trezeguet, Del Piero and Iaquinta are doing well, if we try Amauri is because next year we will have a more competition. In any case speak only of players that I have as a team, others talk about next year when I will have them available. Trezeguet I see, I have not replaced because he had hurt. has marked 17 goals in league and confronting with a few miracles of goalkeepers adversaries, such as Saturday in Kalac or the last Sunday of Fontana. does not seem that the few balls come, I am glad of his performance and what he is doing for the team

Palermo: 'Amelia and interest Lanzafame, De Ceglie no'

09:30, 15 April

Pallavicino: "De Ceglie not interested."
"I met Foschi, but for De Ceglie I never found a real interest Palermo. Carlo Pallavicino, prosecutor terzino left Siena denied that the Palermo should include his client in negotiations for the sale of Amauri. "I understand inter alia, that the rosanero are well covered in the role, given the presence of Balzaretti disputando which is a good season. Rather at Palermo could affect Marchisio, but I do not think that Juventus is prepared to privarsene since the Games will be held in high regard by society and the technical staff. "

Lanzafame Agent: "About him the Palermo".
Intervenuto transmission "Football spoke on stadionews24, Silvano Martina, prosecutor of Lanzafame, owned by Juventus and pursuant to Bari in series B, confirms the interest against his client by the rosanero club" is Lanzafame a player acceptable to a number of companies including Palermo - Martina revealed - I talked to Rino (Foschi, editor's note) which is a friend and I have also seen many observers of the club rosanero in various fields where he played Lanzafame. player has five rischieste on the part of companies Series A and English training. not deny that a destination would welcome the Genoa also because the coach knows him but we will see what has in mind to Juventus. Eventually, however, decide that the player is not excluded may also remain in white. "

Amauri-Juve, Giovinco refuses Palermo

08:30, 15 April

Amauri

Today's meeting Amauri (also like to Liverpool): Zamparini ask more than 10 million, Lanzafame and Nocerino, who is not convinced of Palermo.
(Gazzetta dello Sport)

The negotiation: Marchionni and more Nocerino 12 million euros with the variable Criscito.
The two "no" to Zamparinija Palladino and rosanero to Almiron. Nothing to be done for De Ceglie, Marchisio, and Giovinco Lanzafame.
(Corriere dello Sport)

Juve unleashed on the market: Amauri, then Flamini.
Zamparini summit with the attacker (Di Natale and Mario Gomez options reserves) and midfielder assault on the French route with Arsenal. The first alternative is Keita.
(Tuttosport)

THE NEW TREND: VERTICI MARKET IN THE LIGHT OF THE SUN
Amauri, doors open to Juve.

Today the leadership Bianconeri home Zamparini. The node is the contribution of technology.

The negotiations for the Palermo attacker Carvalho de Oliveira Amauri takes off today in the right place. That is a ten minute drive from Malpensa, where Maurizio Zamparini keeps house and workshop. The new fact in the history of Juve always used to deny any negotiations, once after having carried out, is that day we all say we will see. What is there behind this attack glasnost all'italiana is difficult to understand and makes even suspicious people used to slam against the wall dell'ostruzionismo mercatistico.

But is the new trend of the market en plein air. Even with the Milan Ronaldihno has not hidden anything dinners, trips, Air connections. Delays included. Moreover, the Brazilian centre forward who later this month will be Italian passport, has long targeted the Juve as it was long, Milan, track then abandoned because the player wants a team that disputi next year and the Champions Milan is now outside Europe that counts.

Then around Amauri are building a house of glass. From the outside you can see almost everything. Although there is little to find out why each of the protagonists of this strange negotiation was rushed to say "I do" I will be. Lombard will participate in the summit also Cobolli Gigli which usually leaves Blanc and the Dry compartment purchases and disposals.

The President has announced yesterday morning on the radio: "I will be there to encounter Zamparini which could only be interim. There I will be in compliance with the President of Palermo, but I do not lead the negotiations. Zamparini has always been an extraordinary seller not only in football, we hope to be good buyers. We are neighbours? For now it is difficult to say.

Salamelecchi and compliments Zamparini returns confirming the uncertainties of Cobolli Gigli: "It will be a meeting to determine if there are players of Juve affecting the Palermo. But not close to the first blow. The problem, in fact, is to fix the compensation technique that is appreciated by the company Sicilian. The mainly decided by the ds, Rino Foschi, because in the next season on the bench Sicilian should be a coach other Colantuono. Players, but also a beautiful malloppo euros.

La Juve wants to stop at ten million. The Palermo starts at 14, but it can go to 12. A Zamparini want to walk to his good team, but wants to monetize maximum. With Amauri has a unique opportunity, and suffered as a slot machine would hear tintinnare money that falls in the tank. In the case in his pockets.
The agreement on players will not be easy because the Palermo has specific requests that do not coincide entirely with deals that Juve will. In addition there are bianconeri on which there could be agreement, but do not like the transfer. The feeling is that we will reach an agreement sooner or later. Also because Amauri behind the row of buyers is not so large.

In any case, the Juve keeps alive alternatives. Diventasse too costly Brazilian (soon naturalized Italian), the white club has already targeted Hernan Crespo, 33 years in July. The Argentine currently one year contract with Inter, but no longer feeling with Mancini. It would be a valid and tested alternative for Scudetto and Champions.

Ofcourse Juve will keep Giovinco. What Ranieri said is that he wants him in his squad next season but maybe they use him on a LOAN deal in the Amauri case. I don't think they will ever let go of Giovinco after what happened with Henry.

The other think i don't agree with some of you is some say Tiago is doing well every week. He only played well in the 2nd half against Palermo. He sucked BOTH halfs against Milan or maybe played slightly better in the second. I would sell him because next year we can't afford to give so many chances and we need to win something. Sell him before his price drops.
