At what cost would you be ok with Amauri?

  • Giovinco + cash

  • De Ceglie + Criscito + cash

Arsenal signed Adebayor for around 5 million....
Guiseppe Rossi joined ManU for a very small fee and then joined Villarreal for around 10 million...
Fenin signed for Frankfurt for 3.5 million.
Luca Toni signed for Viola for 10 million.
David Villa went to Valencia for around 12 million (higher than what you wanted but you see the class he is in)
Ajax signed Huntelaar for around 9 million euros.

should I go on?
name one you can get NOW. all of the players you named are pretty much world class today, i agree completely with you, but they were not the day they were signed. And that's what we need right now. We need someone to play CL, to play for the scudetto. Do you imagine G Rossi playing CL the first season he came to ManU? Do you remember the first seasons of everyone? They are all exceptionally good players, and i'd love to have them all with us, but we are not arsenal, who can pick their players for their squad 4 seasons from now. We have a small team, no depth, we need solid, first-squad players.
Don't get me wrong, i'm all for buying tomorrows C. Ronaldos and Messis of this world, BUT right now, we just are not in the position to do so. I see us getting in this business in 2 or 3 years again. Once we have a secured CL Spot, can beat some big teams in CL, get attractive for youngsters again, THEN we can go for the players you want. Right now, we need players to get us into that position

Unfortunately, an inexperienced guy will inevitably make mistakes.

We just have to hope he has learned from them...
He is supposed to make these mistakes with inferior clubs, in lower competitions.
Such mistakes are not allowed in this high level. Such mistakes make cost millions of euros and the may determine the fate of a great historical club like Juventus.
High class clubs need to be leaded by high class managers, Secco can barely handle a Serie B club transfer market, let alone a world class team, with worldwide fame!!
At this level, we cant go by trial and error!

Secco was a quick fix, made on extreme conditions, now its time to move forward.
Maybe in 20-40 years Secco will be experienced enough to come and work with us again!!

I agree that in an ideal world Secco wouldn't be here.

I wouldn't have appointed him, which is why I am more inclined to blame the Board than Secco for poor transfers. They should have known that he wouldn't be experienced enough to handle it.

Unfortunately, I don't see Secco getting sacked, unless we have a catastrophic summer transfer campaign, which is why I hope he is learning quickly.

For a third consecutive year??
I think enough is enough,as you have said, an experienced board wouldnt have assigned him, from the first place.
But our noob board didnt have the experience, or the time to do better.
What are their excuses now???
I dont see the point on insisting on Secco, he has already demonstrated that he is not capable of handling such a club.
Now we have the luxury of the time, the income and the place to negociate for a much better option.
I can only think of 3 reasons our board wont do that.

1 - Stupidity. Despite sharing the love for Juventus and the excitement to make a great team, continuing the legacy...
They simply lack the necessary brain cells to learn from their mistakes and make the right decisions.
Even if they were totally clueless at the beginning, they should know better by now.
Even a dog learns that it cant cross the road again, after losing a leg or two...

2 - Fear. Maybe we have some, really, really dark secrets to hide and we trust no one, but family members. Secco might not qualify for the job, but he could be the most royal solution we have atm.
After all what happened, our board decided not to trust, full access, to our darkest secrets, onto a new, experienced manager!!

3 - Evil intentions. Yes, our owners sold their soul and our club to the devil...
They have already decided not to invest on Juve again and keep it a middle, to top team for the next decade. Low life and free transfers, would abuse the last of the image strops, still left in our club. Hopefully enough to lure in some finished, washed up players. Investments should be minimized and the selection of the staff should comply with that, esp the coach and the transfer director!!

I suspect it is stupidity, or at least a lack of football knowledge, from the board is why he is still in charge.

At times I almost feel sorry for Secco because he is so clearly out of his depth.

A sensible Board would have realised their mistake by now and found a more suitable person for the job.

Like you say, there is now less pressure to hurry into finding a replacement, so now would be a good time to seek an alternative.

I think people are more inclined to Amauri now because we saw what he could do a week and a bit ago. Obviously, everyone here would rather take Amauri and put him in a Juventus jersey instead of wearing a shirt of a rival in Serie A. We fear the possibility of Juventus getting hammered everytime they come up against him now just because of one performance. That's just how I see it.

Personally, I'd prefer that Amauri goes abroad to Madrid or Chelsea, and Juventus pick up Cavenaghi. I've got this good feeling about Cavenaghi...and the best part is that Secco doesn't have to purge Juventus' prospects (not Giovinco, I figured he'd stay) as part of the fee.

True,
although i'm 100% sure that half of those who didn't want him never saw him in their lives before the palermo-Juve match.
Yeah, I suppose. He's certainly in the limelight now though. Miccoli's probably convincing him to go elsewhere, eh? :D

Atletico bought aguero for 22 million euros two years ago so how would they sell him for 25 millions now !!! If atletico ever wanted to sell aguero then he won't go for less than 40 million euros for sure. The guy IMO is slightly behind the top 3 players in the world at the moment (kaka, messi and c.ronaldo)....
