At what cost would you be ok with Amauri?

  • Giovinco + cash

  • De Ceglie + Criscito + cash

As said before, I have nothing against Amauri joining us if he doesn't block more important signings. We could get a good deal for him if we include some of our players and we have a good relationship with Palermo.

nobody else think amauri and iaquinta are too similar? most folk say no to huntelaar since he is a trez clone but amauri's attributes are much like vinny's
I dont think Amauri and Iaquinta are that similar.Iaquinta is a workhoirse. There's nothing flashy about him.He will work his butt off during the game.Amauri on the other hand has tricks and dribbles in his game. He's a much more creative player than Iaquinta.

i guess i just see them both as big, bustling, pacy, dangerous forwards not taht there is anything wrong with that but i would prefer someone witha bit more guile

Amauri definatley has guile. His style has that spark that Iaquinta doesnt.
i think tahts a little unfair on vinny, he does an incredible job for us and really is a danger whenever he plays

but i am just trying to generate discussion about the prospect of us having 2 big frontmen

I didnt mean that.I was talking about creative flair.Ofcourse Iaquinta does a wonderful job for the team. His energy level is second to none. When it comes to being creative and having guile as you mentioned,Amauri wins it.

And man..your last sentence sounded so Capello-ish.

well see that is why i want this discussion because i think if we had 2 big guys up front we would and up being a bit one-dimensional

Juve To Go For Gilardino Instead Of Amauri?

Juventus are considering making a move for under-fire AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino, according to Tuttosport. However Toulouse's Johan Elmander is also another possible option.

Gilardino's furture at San Siro is in huge doubt, following a third disappointing season for the Rossoneri since his big-money move from Parma in 2005.

The 25-year-old has become visibly frustrated in recent weeks by Coach Carlo Ancelotti's lack of trust in him, and was said to have felt hugely let down when Alexandre Pato was preferred to him during last week's Champions League clash with Arsenal in London.

Gilardino's representatives are set to meet with the Milan hierarchy in the next few days, and it is speculated that one of the key issues on the agenda will be the player's destination next season.

Tuttosport says that Juventus are considering making a considerable offer to put to an end Gilardino's Milan nightmare.

The Bianconeri's directors are meeting today to discuss their summer market plans, and they have set out the purpose of signing a top-class attacker and a quality midfielder.

Forward options include Palermo's Amauri and Toulouse's Johan Elmander. However Juve sporting director Alessio Secco believes that the €25m being quoted for the Brazilian is hugely over-exaggerated.

Secco would prefer Elmander at €15m, and believes that the Swede's style would fit perfectly with Juve's other attackers.

However Gilardino is also a very valid possibility, and the player would certainly be open to the move, not only to free himself from Milan, but also because he supported Juventus as a child.

i don't know what to think about this gilardino-thing really... on one hand, gilardino really seems out of form, out of fitness, out of luck but then again, i'd say if he played regularly, he could definately show more class. He will be cheap imo, and he's still pretty young, and i'd say he COULD improve. But then again, i don't know where we could put him. i don't know really, in the end, i'd probably say no to gilardino, except for a really really low price, or maybe on loan?!

Palermo will never get that amount anyways. They just throw out a number to scare competition/raise hype and value. Oldest trick in the book.

imo 15 million is a reasonable price.

Amarui is more Technical than Iaquinta though. and Iaquinta's play one game miss 2 cycle is annoying. Plus Palla is useless and Del Piero is not a machine. Amauri/DP, Amauri/Iaquinta, Amuari/Trez all look awesome and effective as opposed to a Trez/Huntelaar.
But just imagine if Trez/Hunter(forexample) have Giovinco,C,Zanetti,Nedved and Camoranesi behind.
