This tells you all you need to know about Morata and how much he'll improve our squad.
He will drag the whole team down with him, can't have someone so mentally weak on the team that the other players have to accommodate him and help him

He is Chelsea's problem now lets not take their baggage and do them a favour taking him off their hands

As much as I like Morata, his track records been horrible. He's been benched by Mandzukic, Benzema and now Giroud in his career. In the four years since he burst to the European scene he's been a bench player by four elite coaches.

I dont know, but apparently they like Darmian, Bonaventura, Politano and Cristante as well.
So let's just leave context aside basically, right?

1 - All those you mentioned above are more or less cheap italian depth opportunities which the management identified as 'good enough' above all due to their availability for the nazionale.

2 - Whereas the likes of Morata or Martial coming here would rather serve as an obvious upgrade and none would be even remotely close to 'cheap', it would be an opportunity solely based on their recent lack of form and perhaps desire in joining us. Given their huge price-tags and our persistent reported interest in them then i'm pretty sure there's a reason why we haven't backed off yet.

Nonetheless, as i've previously stated on previous pages, Morata coming here would most likely be as Mandzukic's LF/CF replacement so i'm definitely all in for that, but him as Higuain's direct ST replacement? I believe no sane person would agree on that.

And btw, just to be clear i do have my doubts aswell, only that if i recall corectly, in past two/three mercatto's we've managed to more or less dismantle our defence and midfield while considerably improving our atack, so much that atm atack is by far our strongest department, for me that's another good enough reason to trust in the management getting it right with atacking players, that's just one of the facts on which i think we can both agree on.

I love Morata and dont have anything against signing him as long as the financial parameters is okay. What I had a problem with was the our management does everything right and who are the fans to question it. They make plenty of wrong decisions as well and being willing to buy Bonaventura for 30-40m, Cristante for 25-30, Praet for 25-30m and so on should be questioned if this is indeed the case.

Can we not use players the newspapers link us with to our board getting things wrong? Its easy to sit on this forum and say this player is good and that one is bad with no repercussions. Its a whole different thing to get players year in and year out building strong squads and doing it almost always through choosing under valued players who have potential.

So please if you are going to make the argument that our board doesnt know how to scout players at least point to the players that we have that you question the purchase of and not rumors

I dont think they dont know what they are doing. I think they are not perfect.

Of the current squad I think paying 90m for Higuain was a mistake. I think buying Matuidi was a mistake. I think buying MDS as a starting RB to replace Alves was a mistake. I think selling Vidal and Coman was a mistake.I think giving away Tevez for free was a mistake. I think using money to buy squadfillers like Hernanes and Sturaro is a mistake.

Yep some of those choices were not good ones. Others were bad positions to be in by our club. Thanks for using real scenarios though
