Morata wasnt in his best form for most of the season and still played quite a lot. I like Mandzo but he was bought to be a transitional striker until Morata and Dybala grow enough to carry us. He wont be here much longer, 1-2 seasons tops and Morata will start playing more and more until he is a fulltime starter around March. Hes the better player, just needs to find his form and develop a better chemistry with Dybala

I don't see Mandzu leaving anytime soon. If Morata isn't happy with our three man attacking rotation we will get someone else who is.

Morata played 2377 minutes this year. Mandzukic played 2677 minutes this year.

The two of them played very similar minutes, had very similar numbers, and similar performances. Morata was also first cover for Dybala as he was our only forward who could rotate with Dybala, sub in for him, or replace him during his injury. Morata is an excellent SS.

The fact you keep going on about this nonsense makes it very obvious you are willing to disregard all evidence and logic, and just create your own fantasy land in your head where what you're saying is actually true.

Of course there was always going to be intense competition for minutes this year. Mandzu has been one of the most consistent forwards in Europe over the last 3-4 years. Whereas Morata has been very inconsistent. I love Morata, but he played a perfect number of minutes this year, and if he stays that shall only increase as he grows into a better and better player. Hence the reason Allegri said he needs to stay and continue growing.

Mandzu - Dybala seems to be Max's preferred partnership - and rightly so imo.

I don't think it will super clearcut... We'll see lots of rotation again.

The thing is, Mandzu is a player that suits Dybala's playing style better. Whereas Morata is more of a hybrid CF-SS... It's why his assist numbers were so high, and why it was so frequent that Allegri sub'd Morata on for Dybala, and started Mandzu-Morata together at times both in the 4-3-3 early in the season and the 3-5-2 later. Mandzu-Morata, and Morata-Zaza with Morata playing off a main CF always looked quite good.

Morata has excellent SS characteristics, his passing and vision are surprisingly good. Whereas his goalscoring instincts aren't really all that good yet, at least not in Serie A with the defensive style and packed box. He's an interesting forward that way. He's actually a very good SS in Serie A matches (and a mediocre CF), but an excellent CF in Champion's League.

If Morata stays and Allegri starts acknowledging his moments of form (if it stays the same as it is or even improve), he will deserve a starting spot over the course of the season, with Mandzu having to take up the role of rotation player.

Don't get me wrong, I actually like Mandzukic and what he brings. Work rate, good lay offs, goals. He's actually very easy to like if he plays on your team. Though, if Morata has a season as I described, he will definitely deserve to be ahead in the pecking order. For the minutes he played after the Bayern games, I believe Morata has a much better goal+assist ratio and I can see him improve on that next season. With him you'll get someone that simply delivers more. It doesn't mean Mario isn't good. But between the two Morata will be able to give considerably more, so it's only right to give him room WHEN he deserves it.

I don't see what's disrespectful. We shouldn't only consider Mandzukic and his experience by default and not Morata IF he proves to be in better form. The one who will put in better performances should play.

Ill say just one more thing. Juventus NEEDS to have Morata as the indisputed first choice striker, not Mandzukic. They should change current roles and use Mandz as the 75 min sub for Morata.

I disagree. Morata needs to improve in Serie A for that. Currently Mandzu is head-and-shoulders above Morata in Serie A, and forms a far better partnership with Dybala. Morata plays as too much of a SS-CF hybrid and that has adversely effected his ability to partner Dybala. Hence the reason we have Morata most often being sub'd on for Dybala when he isn't starting.

In CL, it's a different story. Morata is by far our most effective attacker over both Mandzu and Dybala, because of his ability to counter and run with the ball at speed.

Until Morata becomes more consistent and more of a finished product, Allegri has set up Serie A rotation perfectly... With Mandzu slightly ahead of Morata in the pecking order. And also using them together frequently. Morata-Mandzu is actually a really excellent partnership. Eventually Morata-Dybala will be too, once Morata realizes that he has to play as more of an outright CF when he plays with Dybala for it to be really effective.

the point is not who is preferred when fit. You are right he is behind Dybala and Mandzukic in the squad but he is the first choice behind either of them. When Dybala is injured or needs a rest or is having a poor game, morata comes from the bench. When Mandzukic too is injured or tired or is not having a good game morata is the first guy coming from the bench.

The point is he gets plenty of gametime and whatever any other team will give him will be more but not by a big meaningful margin. Morata is not leaving just for the slight increase in game-time there is a lot more elements that have big weight I don't know why everyone is focused on the number of minutes he gets.

The appeal of Madrid is obvious. They have no proper bench for BBC and will have a transfer ban next year. He would be the first guy coming from the bench to cover for Benzema or Bale (who dont have the best injury records) and should be able to get plenty of game time. It is also the biggest club in the world, he will probably get more money than he gets here and more media coverage over his performances. That is not to mention that he probably wants to lift La liga, the Coppa and the CL all of which are targets for Madrid. He already won two domestic doubles in Italy and so he might be interested in winning other leagues.

If he goes to City or Arsenal, he again might want a new challenge after having won everything there is to win in Italy twice and he would be making much more money and getting much more attention from the media. There is also the opportunity of playing under Pep and being a part of his City era which is attractive to a lot of players. He might want to win the EPL or atleast play in the EPL after having done everything in Italy.

I am not saying this is his reasoning process, I am saying that we shouldnt place a great emphasis on the number of minutes he is getting as if it is the reason why he would leave us. I doubt he would change his mind if Allegri told him that he is his first choice ahead of Mandzukic. There would still be plenty of reasons to go to spain or EPL.
