At the time we needed a vice Llorente and I wanted Immobile. I was wrong. Real Madrid wouldn't agree to the transfer without recompra. He took us to the champions league final so I think it was worth it. Imagine if we had a Italian Turin born Juventino and sold him to another top club abroad. Then that same guy knocked us out of the champions league leaving us trophy less and got our manager fired. Then we have to "pay to get our own player back". We would say it was a bad deal right? Listen I don't like the recompra none of us do but it ended up being worth it in my opinion. And Morata is not irreplaceable. We can get Berardi to replace him or maybe a top player like Cavani.

I feel that chances are on our side. Morata wants first team football and he knows well that he is considered very important player here and if he shows a little bit of consistency he'll be our first choice easily. At Real he'll always be that homegrown reserve player outbid by the likes of Aguero and Lewandowski.

He'll stay for good.

Doesn't Morata have a say in Real's buyback clause. The following article from football italia leaves me confused

'Alvaro Morata could leave Juventus via Real Madrid for Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester United.

The striker essentially confirmed this week that he wants to stay at Juve, but it isn’t up to him, as Real Madrid can activate their buy-back clause this summer for €30m.

Spanish paper As claims the Merengues plan to sell him on for a profit to the Premier League and Arsenal are the hot favourites.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also potential options.

However calciomercato.it insist they have left out Tottenham, who are on track to qualify for the Champions League and want a hitman to partner Harry Kane'

Enough with the BS excuse that Morata has a say to deny real madrid's clause with us!
Thats absurd, who told you that? Thats some lies made up by Marotta fans, in order to excuse his inefficiencies.
RM can activate the clause on their property, not make a new contract, where every part must agree terms.

Alvaro knows that RM has the total control of his fate for 2 more years and thats why he made those comments.

He himself said that he doesn't.

Anyway, I don't think he is worth more than 40mln.

IMO it depends on us If we are willing to give Real another 10-15mln to remove that clause.

Is he worth it?

Morata had six months left on his contract when we first started negotiating. Before Real sold him to us, he signed a new one which would get activated if and when Real exercised the buyback option. So the news about Morata not having a say is not exaggerated. He did sign a contract.

For me, if Real wants to resell rather than keep, then we'll find a way to negotiate an extra payment with them. If they want to keep, then he's gone.
That's news to me.

Not very good.

from tuttojuve:

- english and german league might fit his style better, but he feels at home at juve
- he likes pl very much because it's less tactical than serie a
- the return to madrid is a real possibility
- he feels honored by butragueno's words (butragueno said the other day that morata was part of the real family)
