Morata: 'A difficult time for me'
By Football Italia staff

Alvaro Morata admits “it has been a pretty tough time,” but put his 20-game goal drought behind him as Juventus beat Inter 3-0.

The Spanish striker bagged a brace in tonight’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg, while Paulo Dybala completed the rout.

“The truth is this has been a pretty tough time for me, not just on the field but off it, as I had many problems in my mind,” Morata told Rai Sport.

“I have to leave it all behind me when I step on to the field. Big champions have had difficult moments, so of course I can too.

“I hope it’s behind me, this night has been very important for me. I once again thank my teammates in this incredible team, as they always speak to me every day and give me the kind of support that is not the norm.

“The breakthrough arrived a little late, but at least it’s here. I’ve been working every day to find form and feel I am a different player to yesterday. A striker lives for goals and I hope to get many more.”

Morata’s last goal was against Bologna on October 4.

In theory, he should have been dybalas partner since the beggining of the season, but dat form he was having send him straight to the bench.

What I want to see is an improved partnership over the morata-tevez.

Thats what I want to see

Has potential to be better than Dybala. Needs confidence and support. Selling Mandzukic and loaning out Zaza would be perfect signal to send him. Lets not make the same mistake we did with Giovinco.

Would have been so sweet if he had buried that pass from Pogba, but still great to see him bury a couple.

Needs to stay on his feet, and assert himself! Also needs to stop dribbling directly into defenders, before weakly falling to the ground. :p

I recall very similar criticisms being made of Messi between 2005-2007 - aka directly before he burst into the scene as the world's best non-Juve player. Dribbling directly into defenders indicates incredible amount of courage and skills, he just needs polishing. Patience required. We are watching history in the making.

I think you're probably not going to want to compare Álvaro to Messi, totally different players.

I love Álvaro, but he's got lots to work on (which is no surprise, given his age). Pazienza, for sure.
