How much do you think he is worth now after scoring all those crucial goals in the champions league?

To put things into perspective, we had to pay 32 million euros for a player who did one good season that ended with a dry spell, a player who never played a single game outside Italy (Dybala).

Morata right now is worth 40-45 million euros at least, mind you that we're talking about next season after even more playing time, to play him this year as well only to lose him for such a tiny amount makes us look like clowns.

Either resolve this situation with Madrid right now or start relying on someone else which is what I think the club is doing hence why we're linked with a bunch of forwards, personally I'd bring back Berardi and play him instead of Alvaro.
We'll offer Morata a new contract matching what he'd earn in Madrid. IMO he's not going to leave for Madrid. They'll buy Aguero and Morata would be miles away from a starting spot.. He's not prolific enough for Real, even if he's been amazing in CL for us. Aguero would sell more shirts - he's their target.

Again we are talking about the end of next season or the end of the one after, Morata at this rate for one or two more seasons will be prolific enough for them, Benitez already declared his admiration and interest to bring him back and trust me it's not the money, it's his childhood club, everything he does is to impress them, we have 0 chance if they call him and we have to be very well aware of that.

@TheLaz It's hard for me to tell if this is logic or wishful thinking.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be 32 when it will be the last chance for Madrid to buy back Morata - summer of 2017. He'll be a massive transfer for them because he'll be the homegrown boy that is coming back to Madrid. This buyback clause is pain in the ass.

If they get Aguero and don't sell Benzema on the other hand...

Every year Real Madrid will spend a minimum of €40m on a prolific player or two. This is because they like to show just how powerful they are. I think they will sign a striker as their next big spending. Morata who? Only true Madridista fans know of him. 70% of their fans (the fanboys) don't. They want a world class player so they can troll everyone with how powerful they are, dominating. Aguero, Lewandowski, Costa, Lacazette, Cavani; this is the kind of player they will be looking for, and by next year, no matter how well Morata has done for us, he's not part of RM plans.

First of all, Morata himself needs to agree with Real too. I'm not sure if he was willing to return at the moment. True, it's his childhood club. But if he relates to them so strongly, than there is nothing we can do about it anyway. Secondly, at the moment we do not know what will be at the end of "next season" or the "end of the one after". Things will change after we have won the Champions League next year. This may change his opinion, or it might change ours. It would be sad to see him leave, but when the moment comes I'm sure we are ready to replace him.

Even now we can say, that things have changed because reaching the final changes everything, when it comes to money and when it comes to reputation.

IMO he stays with us long term. He seems to be at home here in Turin. And he knows he has a starting spot for like the next decade or so if he wants it. We can build our attack around him and Dybala (and others) over the next 10 years. The fans love him, the club appreciates him, he has it made here. Sure, he is a Madrid boy at heart and obviously loves that club, but will he get the same appreciation there?

He probably won't, but I feel he's too much of a Madridista to refuse if they come calling and sweet talk him. I'm not at all convinced he would turn them down.

Its still early for him to decide his future.

Maybe in the upcoming season things will be cleare for him.

Dor sure its very complecated for him, i think he is liking the club, not to mention madrid strikers not getting any younger.

This guy has everything to be one of the best strikers soon.

Finishing, control, sprinting, making space for himself, physical power, both feet and decent dribbler.

I really like him.

That Clause was Marotta's fault, that was a win win situation for Real
We wouldn't have signed him without it though.

It was either that or Juve doesn't get him at all. Marotta ' s fault. Right. Because he would purposely sabotage his own deal by including a buy back clause.
:agree:

People like to find a scapegoat to blame for everything. It was either Morata on a buy-black clause, or possibly Immobile back in a permanent deal. I know which one I would have gone for...

This move can really go either way. I know Morata still feels fondly for Madrid because of how he speaks of them, but he's also seemed upset about the jeers he got st the bernabeu, that memory has remained fresh too. For me, if we can somehow negotiate holding on to him this season, he will then not want to move to Marid because he will be settled as a starter at Juve. So if he's going back to Madrid or if they're triggering the clause, it's most likely a now or never scenario. I don't see a settled Morata moving back to volatile Madrid with Bentiez on the brink of a sack next season.
