Xavi is an imposter sideways passing fraud. Deco>>>> xavi
I agree with Fresh, to an extent.

Xavi was brilliant, because he played for Barcelona and Spain. Within that sort of game he was extremely important for them. He was sort of a metronome, important for keeping possession. It made them able to develop a kind of style I find awful, but that was highly effective. Xavi at Juventus, Bayern or Atletico Madrid would probably have been nothing special.

That sort of football is now gone though. Teams have found an answer to that particular style of play. Barcelona are now a far quicker, faster playing team that rely heavily on their front three. They are a better team as well.

All this being said, Xavi was a vital ingredient of teams that will go down in history (even if that is not to my liking) and for that he is sort of a legend.

In your entire post I dont see why you would be even marginally agreeing with Fresh that Xavi was a side passing fraud. I despised that Barca team too, but as far as playmakers go he is absolutely up there with the greats. Not a far shot from Pirlo in his prime at all.

Because essentially his biggest contribution was sidepassing. I also hate how everyone focused on Xavi, when the players around him were ridiculously good. It's obvious that Messi was always more important than Xavi and Spain was massively helped by Villa.

Yet when Xavi wasnt playing Messi wasnt clicking.

Pirlo played in an insane midfield setup too in Milan, no worse than Xavi in Barca.
But that's not really true, now is it? Xavi hardly played this season and Messi has been outstanding. That Messi depended on Xavi is an outright lie. I really really dislike the midget, but he'd score 50 goals in just about any team with just about every teammate.

Just how it is man.
Raul is the best spaniard ever.
Ah, Raul.

I've seen many great player, but Raul's performance in Inter 2-5 Schalke is the only time I've come away from a game feeling like I've seen a great performance from a great player.

Alvaro, you are Blanco at heart and it's your duty to ensure that your rivals don't succeed. Otherwise when Madrid buys you back you will again sit on the bench. Light up Barca for at least 3 tomorrow.
