Honestly, I did not like the Morata purchase at first, but the way it has turned out has made me a lot more confident in our purchases going forward, especially Dybala.

I was worried that Morata was a risky purchase for 20 million given the buyback clause and the fact that he was unproven. But everything about him has turned out great (which just shows the obvious fact that as armchair analysts, we know a lot less than Juve's scouting team hahaha).
In particular though:
-He's shown he can perform
-He's shown loyalty and I'm not worried that he'll leave to go back to RM.
He had actually shown a lot over the last few years. His goals per minute ratio for Madrid last year was excellent. And his dominating run through both UEFA u-19 (2011) European Championship and the UEFA u-21 (2013) European Championship, also showed a lot. He was top scorer and team of the tournament in both.

Yeah I realize that he had youth pedigree and there was the goal per minute argument. But I was still skeptical because his sample size was small at the senior level. But clearly, he proved me wrong.

The main doubt of him was because real sold him, and that made us wonder if he is good enough. They kept jese who was believed to be more talented and stuff. But I'm very happy everything panned out perfectly for us

I think Morata is being overrated here
Is he talented - Yes
Is he world class or close to being world class - NO!
Morata has great determination and has some strength but his finishing must improve!
His goal against Real was very lucky as Casillas should have got that ball
If we had someone like Cavani instead of him you would see the difference I`m talking about
I know no one said here he is as good as Cavani but we do need an upgrade over him or hope he`ll improve his finishing touch as I dont consider him as a lethal player!

He's the 22 year old starting striker of Juventus who has scored in both the home and the away game of a Champions League semi final against Real Madrid.

I say we are allowed to think he's world class.

His strike in the away leg was great IMO. He smartly aimed for the ground, and the bounce totally bamboozled Casillas

And the kid is improving after every game, in his passing, finishing, interplay, dribbling etc. He will be the most complete striker in the world in a few years.

Some people just want to sound smart all the time. It's like saying Neymar isn't world class, but just a trickster. It's fucking dumb.

u cant deny his clutch though

in CL he has stepped up when it mattered more than once and he's the reason we are in the final. he scored the winner vs parma in coppa to get us into semi final. in serie a he scored some crucial goals like the amazing goal vs palermo.

and this is his first season here. at age of 22 only.

I hope he scores vs barca.

Then he'll refuse madrid for the buyback of summer 2016, but he'll cave in summer 2017 cause he's gf and Pogba's gf will want to hang out with de Gea's gf in Madrid.

Very few of his goals have been ones that would make the average youtube viewer reach for their genitalia but he scores goals and scores the ones that matter. That's all that counts at the end of the day. He could score tap ins and free headers the rest of his career and as long as he did it enough times at the right times he would be worthy of the "world class" label. It's his movement which is his greatest strength after all.

I'd say he's capable of a lot more than that though.

Yeah he isnt scoring the greatest goals but 4 in 6 knockout round games including half of those against madris is something of worth. Trezeguet scored very few awesomne youtube goals but was lethal as shit. Not comparing them but in the age of highlight reals dont be so naive as to think he is not on the cusp of greatness

He really wanted to score a memorable goal in his last outing. So desperate was he that he made some errors. Hopefully that cuts into the learning curve & din we will witness a fantastic goal. Can't wait for his next celebration.
