So where exactly does it say that we don't pay the full 20 M€?

Actually what it says is that Real don't have to pay the entire 30 M€ depending on how much he plays.

Way to shoot yourself in the foot.
If they're gonna buy him back in 2016, it's logical the we don't pay the 3rd installment, becoming him their player again. I don't think it needs to be explained.

And you think that they're gonna take him back if he doesn't stand out here? And if he does, how come they won't pay the full 30M?

Way to shoot yourself in the foot... ;)

Sarcasm aside it is a good deal. We need more of these promising, talented young players and investing into youth seems to be something that current mgt holds in high regard. With deals like this one, you cannot make a mistake. More pls.
I wouldn't say that's a good deal. I'd say we've got a good and very promising player - yes, but the deal with RM is shitty. Not that I'm hating on Marotta on this one I'm just stating the fact. IMO he's a better forward than Lukaku but I realize many will disagree with me on this one.

He isnt going back to Madrid. I dont know if this is the same kind of deal as Roma had with Barca, where Barca were actually forced to buy the player back for the insertee clause. That would effectively remove all risk from this deal for us.
This, people complain here we're getting ripped off in this deal and actually think Morata is nothing special. That's a contradiction it's time to make up your minds then :p

I'm actually relaxed I think he'll be good here but not enough to get a callback.

1st installment at beginning of 1st year (now), 2nd installment at end of 1st year and 3rd installment at end of 2nd year. End of 2nd year is until when the option is valid.

I cannot judge the player at all actually considering I have never seen him play. My whole rant is on the stupid deal, RM really owned Marotta here, they knew he desperately wanted to buy Morata.

:lol::lol::lol: 'logical'. you know nothing.

so if you buy a house and sell it, once you sell it you don't have to pay the rest of the mortgage on the old house right...

Alex, you sign a contract, you fulfill the contract, it doesn't get interrupted for any reason.

I agree that Marotta is confident that Morata will remain because the kid really seems to be ambitious. But this play 2 ways of course. If he does well and we fail miserably at CL, he'll be back to Madrid in no time :)

When you talk about profit, it's just transfer fees. I mean, the salary isn't considered, because he is giving his sportive performance contribution. Also amorization of his value, as time passes and contract end nears is only regarded for accounting terms.

But yes, in 2 years, given the crazy inflation happening in football, 30M will be less worth than today, obviously. This transaction is not based on profit. The real motivation was the player himself.

But Marotta is running a double risk here. The first, he overpayed and the player has to fulfill his potential, making the 20M worth in performance terms. The second, is the real chance of losing him in 2 years for basically peanuts, after the kid is a solid starter and important player for us.

Huge gamble from Marotta. We have huge gaps on LB, CB, wingers and SS. We desperately need fast aggressive young players. But he decided to go full on Morata, betting on the player huge potential of maybe becoming a world class player. If it happens, gotta hope he wants to remain with Juve - and the club must show him that there's a real possibility of challenging for CL in near time.

In the end, it's a high risk high reward gamble on a young talented player. It's so much better than going for fucking Candreva or something like that.

I know that what the player wants is important---- but even if he is desperate to stay with us forever...that matters if real madrid activate the clause?. He can somehow prevent his return to madrid in some way?
