The fact is that, perhaps, someone expected US (that, as you should know, are not big in money) to go to the European Champions and best and richest club in the world, fresh of silverware, to go there, pick up their best young homegrown talent, and Marotta to gangsta dictate our own rules. Yeah, nice story, but then there's reality.
This is what some peeps dont understand. We all know that Marotta has done his good chunk of crapy businesses (giovinco?). But on this morata deal..real madrid always had the upper hand and the most important thing is that WE were the on interested in Morata, while they were never in a hurry to sell him.
So, because they were not desperate and we were...theres was no way that we would have outsmarted them in a deal they were not even needing anyways.
I think its clear as day that Morata got huge potential to become something good at the very least...so any competent SD would not be fooled to by ou offer and give him to us for peanuts.

Yes, they gave him to us, but on their terms, otherwise they would have NEVER sold him to us. Thy are RM ffs.
And we need to remember that we never bended over their offers for Vidal and Pogba...so why they should bend on ours?.

Is it true Morata has a buy back clause?
At most 30 M€ according to the contract. Great business if you ask me, close to legendary.

actually our profit will be less since we're paying for his wages or at least contributing towards them
What do you mean contributing? We are paying all his wages. We will also make at most 10 M€ profit, how can anyone not see this as the deal of the season is beyond my perception.

Sarcasm aside it is a good deal. We need more of these promising, talented young players and investing into youth seems to be something that current mgt holds in high regard. With deals like this one, you cannot make a mistake. More pls.

huh? we will pay the 20 mil for him whether he leaves next year or in 2, this deal sucks because juventus takes all the risk and would reap just part of the reward. While madrid has a win win, either they just pocket the 20, or get themselves a potentially elite forward for 10-15 mil.

it's pure negotiation from a point fo weakness, kinda ironic since 'we' are intransigent when it comes to bidding wars.
We will pay just 12M if they get him back, and they can't get him back next year. Only in 2016 summer.

whaaaaat? sorry but this is one of the funniest thinks I've read in this forum :)
Not really. :) It's just a fact, that Marotta repeated in the press conference. Everybody keep saying that we're paying 20M and will receive only 10M for him, when it's actually almost the double if they buy back.

The only way Juve wins this one is if someone will pay his 100 mill release clause, of which we gain 70 mill from

He isnt going back to Madrid. I dont know if this is the same kind of deal as Roma had with Barca, where Barca were actually forced to buy the player back for the insertee clause. That would effectively remove all risk from this deal for us.

WTF?

You're calculating the amortization, we will still pay 20mln.
accounting wise that seems to be correct... when his book value is 12 m and we sell him for 30 that is acutally a accounting profit of 18mil.
but thats just the accounting view....

20 mil 5 year amortization thats 4 mil a year so 20-8 =12

I know, but that's profit in the books as you said, not the payment we have to make.

Two different things.
