I'd say his demise has been his personality, he didnt make it at chelsea because of his pricetag. He didnt make it Atletico because he was supposed to lead and he is no leader. Hopefully it should be different here, he will grow some balls, we got enough leaders to cheer and motivate him.

He’s scored single digit goals in no season since he came here in 14-15.

14-15: 15 goals-7 assists 2302 minutes
15-16: 12 goals - 11 assists 2377 minutes
16-17: 20 goals - 6 assists. 1873 minutes
17-18: 15 goals - 6 assists 2764 minutes
18-19: 15 goals - 1 assists 2709 minutes
19-20: 16 goals - 4 assists 2804 minutes

Which means he has scored or assisted about every 110 minutes for the last 6 years. So awful. I know.
Let's see:
2014/15 Serie A: 8 goals
2015/16 Serie A: 7 goals

Yes, I expect Juve's striker to get past 10 goals in Serie A. If they don't, it's fair game to criticize them. Seems like a pretty low bar to set.

There is a reason he left Madrid, a reason he left Chelsea, and a reason he left Atletico. And no, that reason is not that he is amazing.

Who cares, we can get him for cheap in 2022 after two loans since his contract expires in 2023!!! :tuttosport:
Wouldnt it mean he will have to extend his contract before then?
Also if we have an option for 2nd year loan - Is it 10M per year or 10M for the first year and 0 for the second?

Or he’s good enough that a 9 million dollar dry loan is a great short term deal while we save to buy our next CF in 1-2 years for the post-Ronaldo era, but not good enough to pay the option. He doesn’t have to justify the purchase option for the loan price to be just fine. Score a few clutch goals and a few clutch assists, and it will be a great deal even if we don’t buy him at the end.
In that sense he might even be cheaper than Suarez but the question is also wages - How much we pay him since his contract with Atletico is a bit higher than the one he had with us back then

Now lets do CL for his time here which is what counts in the end. Scored the goal that eliminated Liverpool too last season. Big game player.

I get that its not a perfect situation, but either way Dybala is going to be the preferred option and its a loan

You could get Ronaldo9 in his prime here, but different nationality, and he'd get trashed because he's lazy and doesnt do defensive work

So.. Do you think a player that has been off for 5 seasons who never got the goalscorer tag and in such a delicate time worth 55M?!
I mean if he isnt good enough we wasted 10M and if he is good enough its 55M in such a terrible time.
On the other hand if he isnt that great we pay 10M for someone who isnt really up to the standard
It's an option to buy for 45 mil. with a possibility of extending his loan.
Dzeko would cost us 8+15= 23 mil. a year that's 46 million over 2 years.
Morata would cost us 10 mill (gross salary for 1 year) , or 7 million gross a year if he stays 2 + 9/year loan fee probably
If morata stays 1 year we pay 19/year or if he extends we pai 32 million over 2 years, because if he stays 2 or more he benefits from tax reduction on his salary.

We do it like Bayern did when they loan
James Rodriguez 13m for 2 years
Perisic 5m for a year with 20m option
and Coutinho 8.5m for a year with 120m option. 9m loan fee actually quite expensive

In the end, all of them back to their club. And there is another opportunity signing next year
